I just picked up this game 2 days ago and have been playing it quite alot over the past 2 days. I am thoroughly enjoying the game, and I can't really give an accurate review of it until I am finished.

One thing I am disappointed with is the Evil Mode. I guess I was hoping it would be more along the lines of KOTOR. Where your party takes the path of evil instead of good. But, you do get some cool items from it and that's pretty nice.

I really enjoy the story and the how your characters become thrown in with the Fellowship at times... even if some of the items are quite bogus and impossible to have happened. I'll report back more when I've finished it.

Anyone else playing this?

I realllly want to, is it as good as the back of the box says ("The most anticipated RPG since final fantasy")? Or will I buy it and be dissapointed by flashy art and negative quality game play?

'Most anticipated RPG since Final Fantasy'...? Cmon, EA can't be that bigheaded can they?

So is it more than just a LOTR 'mod' of FFX? I heard they used the same battle system.

I had it but the single player didn't hold my attention, especially when i have Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne to play. The multiplayer was fun but most of the time I have no one to play with. I got $30 for it at EB which went towards Half-Life 2. HL2 was definetly worth the trade-in.

In my opinion, this game's only good for a rental (or two, depending on how quickly you can get through it). I see it as FFX with LotR characters, at least gameplay-wise. And if anyone's expecting really sweet visuals, you'll be disappointed. There are no original FMV's, all you get are pretty random shots of the movies thrown in every now and then.

The characters are also pretty ugly compared to what any of the three systems is actually capable of (a relative of mine saw me playing and compared Idrial (an elf) to the likeness of a pig). One last thing I noticed was that you level up really friggin' fast. In the first two or three hours of the game, you level up pretty much every fight. So all in all, it wasn't that great.

Vemonic, are you talking about the co-op mode? Because other than that, the game has no multiplayer to it.

I do agree, Viktor, it does have an FFX feel to it and the battle system is very much that of FFX. But, I loved that battle system. I survived Helm's Deep last night and man, was that tough! The graphics could use a little polish, considering what they can do with game systems now. FFX looked a whole hell of a lot better than this does. But I give the sound and music major props. I have it hooked up on Optical Audio with 5.1 Surround Sound and a THX compatible receiver. So it sounds fricken amazing.

Oh yeah, one more thing I forgot to add. Everyone seems to like to yell. A lot. And do stupid looking victory poses. It really got on my nerves.

Yeah, I meant the co-op mode. Like Viktor siad you do level up really fast. The graphics bothered me a little too. The sounds okay.
