"So, you actually trust those crazy assumptions?"

"What assumptions?"

"That those...things...they'll be safe."

"Captain, we've run all of the tests in the book, even ones not mentioned, twenty or thirty times. They've been green each time. There's no reason to worry. You're such a pessimist."

"It's just that...I don't know. Weren't we all against this just a few years ago?"

"Opinions change, Captain. And circumstances. In the world that we live in now we need leverage, advantages, "plan B"s. It's our turn to step down and give new ideas a shot. We may not agree with it, and our worries may even be right in the end. But, until then, we have no choice but to wait and see."

"Sure, we always have to wait."

The captain and female lieutenant stood in the dimly lit metallic observation chamber. They both glanced over at the circle of glass chambers in the center of the room. They let out an inaudible sigh as they heard the hiss of the main door opening behind them. Out of the light emerged an aging scientist. He had greying hair, but still could pass for fifty, highlights and all.

His face looked grim.

"How are you two today?"

They both acknowledged his question with a lie and fell silent.

"Okay then."

He walked over to a line of computers situated in front of the capsules. His strokes of the keyboard awakened the screens as he ripped through password after password to arrive at a red and blue screen with the word "initiate" written across a small grey button.

At that moment, the captain and lieutenant were surprised to witness yet more scientists pour through the security door. They varied in ages and stature.

The first scientist looked towards the group and addressed them.

"I wish I had something witty and memorable to say before something as momentous as this. But, I guess we'll have to leave that to the guests of honor."

He slid the cursor over the button and left-clicked.

She dreamed, like she always did. Dreams of cold, dark spaces. Dreams of entities caked in blackness staring on her. Dreams of never knowing what sight was. Everything was blackness...until now. Sounds. Light. Both of them from unknown sources. Then the warmth came. She reached out to it invitingly, then pulled back because it was too loud, too bright, and too hot for her to get closer to it. But it got closer to her. It reached for her, and try as she might, she couldn't escape. Everything was fuzzy. Brightness resonated. She swayed between the realm of the subconscious and reality, but knew that she could not go back to the darkness. She slowly began to awaken.

He had been dreaming of worlds to go, to see, to feel. Yet all he could do was just see, that was the bad thing about dreaming. He knew he would not have to wait long, he knew he would be awakened, at it looked like his time is starting to come. He heard a sound, one that told him he knew he was not in a dream. He started to see something, like a light of sorts. "This is definitly no dream" He whispered. Yet something puzzled him. How did he know all this?

Raith also begins to stir, prodded into wakefulness by more than the stimulants injected to finally bring him to true consciousness. In something like dreams he vaguely knew of all that had happened to him before this but he didn't understand what it meant, he could barely even think in this state. He did not know how long he had dwelled in this twilight state, dimly aware of the other minds enclosed in other observation units. But now there were new minds, watchful presences with a cocktail of emotions running through them. A mix of fear and expectation. Slowly, for the first time ever, he begins to open his eyes.

She tried to open her eyes, but the bright forced her to shut them completely. She was compelled to lash out at the light. To silence it. Suddenly, feeling in her left arm allowed her to move it.

"Agh?!" She said without thinking, moving her left hand before her eyes, the palm exposed and outward. The tattoo revealed her nature before all that stood before the bed she had slept in for so long. How long? She dug into her mind, but couldn't remember. In fact, a lot of questions that suddenly appeared in her head...she simply didn't have answers for. Where was she? Who was she? What was her birthday? What about family? And friends? She forced herself to sit up and bowed her head to block out the bright light, still covering her eyes with her left hand. As the light stopped stinging and the sudden headache and lightheaded feeling begin to grow smaller, she slowly opened her eyes.

The head scientist watched closely over the computer monitors as they began to register heart rate, blood pressure, and a million other things that the captain didn't even attempt to understand. The other scientists that formed the audience fidgeted. "Shouldn't be long now." He did a double take and snapped back to a monitor as the symbols and lines on it began to change. The group jumped at the muffled sound of a scream coming from somewhere inside the capsules.

The head scientist walked over to the origin of the voice and stopped at capsule #1. Inside was a teenage girl, a naked teenage girl, but this didn't bother the scientist. To him, they all had been like sons and daughters. He saw that her brilliant green eyes were already open. He felt like he was waking his own son up for school. But, he remembered, those days are long gone.

"Open this one." The group watching gasped. "I want this one open. Ms. Lonnquist, would you mind?"

The leiutenant walked over to the computer line. "What do I do?"

"Type in the command prompt 'op 1'.

The leiutenant did as she was told and the glass barrier lifted off of the capsule. The scientist noticed that the inside was more lush than he had expected. All sides were padded with a bright pink foam of some sort. He thought to himself that he wouldn't mind sleeping in that for nineteen years.

His attention turned towards the human inside. He let out a short laugh. "Wake up. It's time for...school."

As she began to realized that she was in a capsule of some sorts, it opened for her, steam spilling out across the floor. She shook her head quickly to jar her mind completely awake, her bright green hair flapping around her neck. She had it done in two ponytails with black scrunchies. Her eyes were unfocused. She could barely make it out, but there appeared to be very small markings on many places. Whatever had made them...she couldn't tell and didn't really care.

"Mmmmphmmm..." Her breath was audible and she found the strength in her legs to slowly climb out. As she touched the damp floor, her knees gave in and she toppled out of the capsule, embracing the floor unceremoniously. She opened her eyes wider as the light stopped biting into her view and got to her hands and knees, shaking her head again. Swaying, she stood up and tried to take in the scenery.

Inside another capsule a man was stirring. He woke up, blind and shocked, then slowly he regained his sight. He tried to remember anything but he could only think of a name, Runner. He assumed it was meant for him. Panic washed over him when he realized he was enclosed in a small capsule. He screamed and struggled to get out. Electricity ran through his body. He could see it on his hand. Then he blacked out right before the capsule opened, spilling him onto the ground.

"Oh! Captain, if you wouldn't mind."

"Sure."

The captain approached the man who had just spilled onto the floor. He had long black hair that covered his face as he fell. The captain put his arm over his head and lifted the body. He walked over to a row of chairs set up in front of the capsules and sat the man as upright as he could. His head bent over his body as he was let go.

"He'll be fine." The head scientist looked again over at the monitors. "Looks like we've got another one coming through."

Shruikan woke up, his thoughts were blurry. When his thoughts cleared he opened his eyes and looked around the room through the glass, wait, glass? He suddenly realized he was in a small capsule and tried franticly (sp?) to get out, ramming the glass. But, it proved to hard for him.
Suddenly, the glass slid open, and a scientist stepped into the room. It took a few minutes for Shruikan's eyes to adjust to the light. "Good, your up." the scientist spoke in a deep voice. "Time for your training"

The scientist led him to a room marked "The classroom". They stepped inside. "Time to begin. Now, focus your energies....."

A FEW HOURS LATER....
Shruikan finished his training as a barrel burst into flames. He felt energy flowing through his body. "Good, now we'll get you you're equipment" the scientist said. He walked out the door and started down the hall.

He was in a capsule, and he had just gained his strength back, that is if he ever had it. He got up, and relized he had no way out, but for some reason it never bothered him. He sat down and just as he got comfortable, the door opened. There was man, a scientist by the looks of it. He said "Ah Leverik, glad your awake." in a nice and plain tone, one much like a dad's when he tries to put his children to sleep. "I've got something for you Leverik, and how bout I just call you Lerik for short?" Leverik nodded his head in agreement. He was quite confused as to what is going on, but the name Leverik and the ay this man talked seemed so, famaliar. The scientist pulled out some clothes and tossed them to him. "You might want to put them on, I don't care, but I dont know if you care." Actually he didn't, but he put on the clothes anyway.

"Uh, doctor, about getting the rest some clothes." The captain said.

"Yes, of course." He went to a back room and emerged with a cart, on top of which sat several boxes, each with a number on it.

He went over to each of the genomes as they emerged and put the boxes in front of them.

As soon as they were all seated, he began.

"Now, I'm sure none of you know why you're here. Actually, none of you know anything at all, not even the English language. I guess this is a waste of time talking to you, but you're going to have to get used to it."

They looked around, thoroughly confused.

"Okay then. Men, please lead them to their "dressing rooms"."

The scientists came over and took hold of each of the genomes' hands. They led them out of the room and into their seperate holding cells. A seperate doctor was assigned to each of them to assist in dressing them with their designated equipment.

In the next several weeks they would be introduced to their creators and speed-taught everything from English, to history, to government and how to generally act and talk like everyone else. After all that was completed, they were ready for special training.

When Runner woke up he was sitting in a chair. Since then he had been led to a room and given some clothing. He had gotten dressed even though he didn't really care for his attire. He felt silly wearing a gun holster and a cowboy hat. Plus his checkered jacket was too small, but he wore it anyway because it had been given to him. He really only like the almost knee-high boots that were had straps all over them. He tucked his pants into them, then he took one strap from one of the boots and put it on as a collar. He decided he liked how it felt and kept it on. A man walked into the room.

"Oh, I see you've gotten dressed." the man said to Runner. Then he led him to another room, left, and locked the door on his way out.

Jacob had slowly woke up. The first thing he did was stretch as much as possible, cracking several bones that had gotten stiff after being stuffed in a tube for long periods of time. He didn't have enough room to finish, so Jacob instinctively moved forward towards the largeer area. What he did not realize was that there was a glass case infront of him. With a loud thud he smacked his head on the glass.

As Jacob rubbed his head, the tube opened. He noticed a box infront of him when he stepped outside of the tube. There was a small symbol on the box, one he would later find out to be the number seven. That same symbol was also tattooed onto Jacob's right shoulder, which he had noticed before. Though he did not know what five was, he could tell the symbols were the same, so he assumed the box was for him. Akwardly, he figured out what the clothes were, and put them on. He put them on wrong, with a shirt for pants and shorts on his head, but he liked how they felt.

He then heard noises from others who looked like him. Jacob joined around the scientiest, and listened to the random gibberish before being led into a room by a man in a white coat. He went along since he noticed the same symbol, 7, on the man's coat.

Nikolai felt as if time was passing in a sort of strange, vague blur. He remembered something about a blinding light, and then following someone around, and finally putting on some clothes. When he finally seemed to come to, he felt himself leaning dazedly against the wall of a room wearing camo plants, a sleveless black shirt, and a long coat. Oddly, he found himself staring into a mirror, inspecting the odd scar that extended down over his left eye from forehead to cheek. Leaning towards the mirror he felt it with a finger and suddenly, a man standing nearby began to speak to him.

"Yeah... sorry about that. You were one of the earlier starts and when you were younger there was a... mistake. We also only figured out later how your powers could effect your skeletal structure so we had to reinforce that later too... especially around your hands." Nikolai didn't understand a word the scientist was saying and withdrew his hand quckly when the scientist demonstratively tapped the metal bracing attached to it. Looking at the metal enhanced hands, Nikolai saw that there was an odd symbol tatooed on his left hand, but the metal and scar patterns made the symbol illegible. "Well, come on," the scientist said, motioning for Nikolai to follow, "There's much to do."

Some things were finally starting to come back to him, like his name Xavier, at least that's what this short man the long white coat had called him several times now. He could remember waking up in that strange tube thing and cracking the glass when he punched it before it opened. He recalled climbing out then and going to sit beside the other people who it seemed had also just emerged from their own capsules. Then the other men and women in coats speaking to him in gibberish before the one with him now gave him these clothes and led him away to this room where he helped Xavier get dressed. After that Xavier had simply listened as the man began to explain a few things to him, such as his being created and generally what he would spend the few days doing.

Once finished with the rather short explanations the man gave Xavier some food to eat and told him to get some rest afterwards. "You'll need to be alert for the speed training so you can finish quickly and get on to the "special training" then we can really see what your capable of." he said with a grin.

While he ate Xavier thought about the events of the day and decieded that it was all to much to handle for now. "That guy was right I really need some sleep, maybe this'll all make more sense in the morning," he thought to himself.

His last thought before drifting of was "Who am I?"

Before the girl could figure out anything of note, a young woman helped her out of the chamber, covering her in a soft, warm towel. She was...making noise as she lead the girl down the white hallway. Eventually, they came unto a room where clothing had been laid out.

"I highly doubt those guys found anything that would make you look good, more or less something in your size, so I took the liberty of preparing some clothes for you for the time being. Here, let me help you."

It didn't take long for the woman to dress the girl. The girl felt she could trust this woman...probably because she was a woman like the girl was. A skin tight t-shirt that left her nipples barely visible with a short sleeved, small black jacket. Green cargo pants with large pockets. Black combat boots. Fingerless gloves. The woman even went as far as to style the girl's hair, giving her two ponytails held by black scrunchies. When all of that was over, the woman helped the girl before a mirror to check herself out. The girl couldn't find the words to describe herself for some reason. Then she removed her left fingerless glove and looked at the mark on the palm she noticed in the chamber from before. The woman stepped up and took the girl's left hand gently.

"A tattoo for the super soldier program. Like it or not, this thing is pretty damn permanent. Cosmetic surgery would be the least you'd have to go through to get this thing off."

The girl looked at the woman. "Cooo...coosss..." The girl tried to utter in a vain attempt at mimicking human language. The woman shook her head. "Let's get you to the reneuralization chamber. That's where you'll get your college diploma in less than an hour." The woman smiled, and helping the girl put the glove back on, they left the room.

Raith is still switched off in many ways. The relatively dim light had originally been blinding and the sensory bombardment overwhelming. Mentally he assumes a passive state, trying to understand what exactly is going on. With his mind an almost complete blank, he doesn't have much chance. He hears what the doctor says to him and the others but while he can identify the words, their meaning is lost on him. Even while sleeping he had been in a receptive state. Raith could tell that the others did not understand either and he intuitively grasped that there was a kind of kinship between them.

One of the scientists takes his arm and leads him off from the room and he is instructed to put on the clothes he is given and he does so, donning the simple, dark grey garb. The man then leads him off down a white hallway to where the first stages of his education would begin.

"The man that opened the chamber must be the one that made me." Leverik thought. After listenning to the man speak about something, that man came back and lead him somewhere, somewhere that seemed different that where everyone else was going. "I have to admit, I didn't think putting knowledge in you like I did would work at first, but I just didn't fell like teaching you the old fashion way." The man said. "I know you can understand me, I designed you that way. Now Leverik, are you going to anwser or not." Leverik then anwsered with a simple "yes". The man then said "Good, now we must get to work, if you haven't guessed it already, I've done some stuff that the other scientist would kill me if they knew. Not only do you have all the knowledge of the English language, but you should also know what most of your powers are, who you are going to hunt, and what made me do all this." The man smiled "There is much to do, with very little time. Follow me." Then the man took off in a very fast paced walk.

"You're making things very easy on me, you know? You're very cooperative. Perhaps you remember me and what we used to be?" The woman was still speaking as she fastened bands of leather around the girl's wrists, ankles, torso, and neck. "Don't worry. This won't hurt. It'll just be very intense. Keep your eyes open."

The woman removed the girl's left glove and held her hand comfortingly as some large bowl of sorts was brought down over the girl's head. Suddenly her eyes were forced open and a dim light appeared before her. Automatically, tears rolled down her cheeks. "It's all right. I'll stick by your side this whole time. Okay, we can begin your education. Start up the program!"

"Program commensing. ETA to completion is thirty-seven minutes, fourty-two seconds." Suddenly, visions rushed into the girl's mind. She learned about hundreds of different topics in a handful of minutes. Her vocabulary was up to date in a single minute. She learned how to bake hundreds of different pastries throughout many nations, how to ride a horse, the proper stance to firing many different guns, lots of important names and faces throughout history and today, sexual education, foreign languages, bomb making and defusing instructions, proper instructions to eating meals, venomous and poisonous animals and plants, treating illness, martial arts, origami, disarming, poetry, attention to detail, meditation, disposal of classified information, household chores, flirtacious movements, sports, computer hardware and software, national monuments, hacking, sign language, how to lift heavy objects, dinosaurs, chess, the law system, dancing, driving a racing vehicle, native dress, religion, gymnastics, anime date simulation games, the stage of a newborn human from conception to birth, the latest hairstyles, picking locks, mythical creatures, fatty foods, mixing alcoholic beverages, noble attire and attitude, ceremonies, pressure points, panties, kareoke, cool insults, muscle mass, illegal drugs, criminal offenses, dead baby jokes, the Internet, Heaven and Hell, faking tears and blushing, hand gestures, various alloys, cake decorating, genetic dysfunctions...it all flashed through her mind, expanding her horizons in mere seconds. She grit her teeth as her tears dripped from her chin and gripped harder at the woman's hand. Her head quivered and suddenly...it was all over. The dim lights from before weren't even there. The woman let go of the girl's hand and quickly lifted the bowl...the helmet off of her, placing her hands gently on the girl's face.

"Good god, are you all right? C'mon, Kristen, speak to me!" The girl, Kristen, blinked a few more times and stared at the woman for a while, then uttered "Who are you?"

When Achilles had awoken, he hadn't acted like the others. He had been used to the dreaming state. The dreaming state in which nothing was real and nothing could be felt. Free of any physical sensations.

And so, when he awoke, he took a deep breath and smiled at the feeling of air rushing into his lungs. His hands wandered to the glass where he appreciated the feeling of it against his skin, cool and hard. It resisted as he pushed against it gently, testing it, and this made him smile too, until it opened up.

The outside world was cold and bright, but he stepped out of his capsule calmly, his eyes moving directly toward the bright light. Achilles savored even the pain and cold. It was uncomfortable, but it was better than his existence up until now. At least when he felt pain he was feeling something. He was feeling alive.

The droning on of the scientists was something he quickly zoned out as he was moved to a chair to sit. He couldn't understand what they were saying, and their rambling was boring, so, instead he looked about the room, commiting it to memory as he waited to be allowed to stand.

It wasn't long before a man grabbed his hand to lead him away, and Achilles followed, more out of curiousity than anything. He didn't know who these people were, but he also didn't know to be cautious. Curiousity with his new found freedom and this world was his driving force now, and so, when he was shown to some clothes, he poked them at first. Picked them up, toyed with them. Even tasted them. He then smiled and looked back at the scientist and then the clothing, realizing that the man, who was now rambling again, was wearing similiar articles, although they were not exactly the same.

Achilles donned his clothing, shirt, pants, coat, socks, boots, etc., putting it all on in a way to best resemble the scientist standing behind him. His mimicry kept him from any real mistakes in dressing. At least after the scientist came up and adjusted his shirt so as that it was no longer on backwards.

When Xavier woke up his head was much clearer, the blurryness from the day before had gone and he could think freely. Despite that he still didn't know what was going on. As got up and dressed by using the clothes in the way the man had showed him yesterday, something instinictively told him to prepare himself. Without realizing what he was doing he began going through various exercises. These were designed to limber both his mind and body as well as tweak his muscles into a state of "readiness". As he carried out the actions with a vacant mind the short man from the day before entered the room and took a seat to watch. Xavier continued on with the exercises for a while longer before finishing, it wasn't until then that he noticed the man sitting in the room.

"Well done Xavier. I can see that the instructions implanted into your brain have asserted themselves nicely."

Xavier looked at the man in shock, as he tried to recall what he had just spent the last hour or so doing, "What exercises? I don't know what your talking about, I don't even know who I am. What is going on?"

The man stood up and walked toward the door, "Come with me Xavier and we'll start the training I spoke of yesterday, this will help to make it all more clear."

As Xavier followed the man through the door, He asked, "Will you at least tell me who you are?"

"Very well, my name is Dr. Lacon and I created you to be the ultimate knight. The rest will be clear to you soon."

Before Xavier could reply they arrived in a new room dominated by many large chairs with oddly shaped bowls above them and many small tubes attached. He could see that some of the chairs were occupied. The doctor gestured for Xavier to have a seat in the nearest one.

"This will be a rather disconcerting experience, but one that is quite neccesary I'm afraid. Please to don't close your eyes or we shall have to begin all over and you wouldn't like that much."

The bowl was lowered onto Xavier's head and images began to pour into his mind's eye. It was as if everything that had ever happened had been compressed down to just barely processable size and was being forcably inserted into his brain. This lasted some fourty to fifty mintues and as was quite unpleastant. After the "education" Dr. Lacon again led Xavier to the his room and instructed him to eat and then rest.

For the second time Xavier lay at the edge of wakefulness and thought, "I still don't really know who I am."

The man directed him to a chair, he sat down and was straped down into it,"Dont close your eyes", the man said and moved a bowel over him.
Information seemed to come back to him in seconds, some framiliar, some not. He had a liquid pouring down his face, no, they were tears.
When it suddenly stoped he felt like someone had slaped him. He looked up at the man and learning so much he still didnt know his name but knew he was close.

There seemed to be a large computer system linked to the capsule. Through it, Interface began to explore.

He soon found a camera viewing a room that the other super soldiers were being brought to, and it seemed to have some sort of bowl that was transferring information.

{hmmm, wonder what that is. guess I'll check}

Interface used the computer pathways to find the bowl, and discovered a veritable sea of information. He found the portion designated for himself, and absorbed it. Then he began idly searching through the other parts of the information, learning of the powers and abilities of his siblings, as well as plans for future soldiers.

The woman stepped away from the chair after releasing Kristen, her face one of sad, but well disquised regret. Kristen didn't know what to think, but the woman set her down the right path. "My name is Patricia McCormick and I am a researcher for the super soldier program. Well, actually, one of its smaller program branches, which is involved with individual clients, and my particular branch is you."

"Me?" Kristen said. Patricia nodded. "Yes. It was called the Total Force program, and the purpose of it was to bring this dying world a miracle. That, too, would be you. You are a miracle. One of a number of them that have been reborn inside this facility through the Total Force program and similar others. Your real name is Kristen Goldman. Unfortunately, that is all I can tell you for right now. I wish I could tell you more because it would mean a great deal to me for you to remember your past but I just can't talk about it. During your duty as a savior for this world, you'll be referred to by the alias of Nancy McCormick. Now if you'll follow me, we'll discuss what the Total Force program has done for you."

"One question." Kristen spoke. "Is there a chance that you'll ever be able to tell me?"

Patricia stroked her cheek, her slightly sad expression engraving itself into Kristen's mind. "Hopefully one day, yes, I can tell you everything." Kristen nodded quickly and followed Patricia back out into the hall.

The room had no camera's, no furniture, no anything. "Come in and close the door" He said, and Leverik then walked in and closed the door tightly. "Alright then, first off, you know about your powers correct?" Leverik nodded "Good, you also should know about everyone else in the project Super Soldier." Again, Leverik nodded. "It seems everything's going according to plan." The head scientist said with a smile. Suddenly, a metallic grinding noise made him jump. He ran over towards the remaining closed capsules and examined them until he found the problem. He sighed. "Oh damnit, Captain Bridger, could I have a crowbar over here at number 2, please? It seems like one of our participants found his Christmas present a little early."

While the captain was searching the storage cabinet for the requested implement, the scientist took a closer look at the boy inside. He had a dazed and distant look on his face. "Just what are you doing?" He then noticed the excess metal near the pins and latches of the capsule.

"Doctor!" The leuitenant motioned for him. "Look at the screen." The scientist ran over and was instantly in front of monitor #1. It was displaying thousands of random symbols across the screen, symbols no one recognized. He tried tapping several different button combinations, but the system remained locked. "What the hell? Do we have a virus?"

"Hmm, this doesn't look like any virus I've ever seen?" Leiutenant Lonnquist responded.

"A hacker maybe?"

They continued watching the screen until the intercom crackled.

This is the "classroom". I'm detecting some sort of interference in our database. We can't continue until this problem is fixed.

"They're experiencing it too?"

The captain came back with the crowbar and approached capsule 2. Before he could begin forcing it open, something caught his eye. The being inside was twitching involuntarily. "Uh, doctor?"

The scientist ran back across the room and took one look at the boy. "I...I think we may have found our hacker."

Runner had gone through alot in a short amount of time. Soon after he dressed a scientist walked in and adjusted his clothing for him. The scientist guided him to a machine and strapped him to it. He learned a life's worth of knowledge in one short sitting from the machine. Then the scientist took him to another room. There the scientist told him what he was and who had created him. It was another scientist that had died shortly before he was awakened. The scientist went to get something, leaving Runner in the room. Runner was thinking of his creator, a man he would never meet. That had been an hour ago.

The scientist finally came back,He was holding a small stack of papers. He started talking.
"Sorry for the wait. Here, these papers detail your powers and a few other things. Your name is somewhere in there, you can look through them now if you'd like."
"My name's Runner. I knew it when I woke up" Runner said to the man.
"Hmm. I guess Dr. Lawrence could've implanted that into your brain before you woke up. Probably explains how you dressed yourself so nicely." The man replied. He went on some more about Runner's powers then left telling him to wait there.

"...well, come on." The scientist said as he walked into a room that contained only a strange device made up of wires, leather straps, and an upside down metal bowl. This was not the kind of advice that looked inviting so Nikolai stood his ground, bare arms crossed in front of him and silvery eyes glaring at the scientist. "Come on," the scientist goaded again, motioning for Nikolai to come. Still nothing. With an exasperated sigh, the scientist walked over to Nikolai and grabbed him by the arm, "COME ON!" He attempted to pull Nikolai through the threshold but Nikolai pulled his arm back quickly and thrust the scientist angrily to the ground.

Suddenly, two large men in suits appeared from the halway and grabbed Nikolai by his arms, forcing him forward even as he fought. Relentlessly, they thrust him into the machine and strapped him down. The machine was started up shortly thereafter and, while it didn't hurt, it was... unpleasant. Gritting his teeth, Nikolai pulled fiercely against the unrelenting leather straps, glaring angrily at the scientist and men in suits. However, despite his resistance, his mind was still being developed.

It was nearly fourty five minutes of struggling before the process ended and Nikolai was releaced from the straps, collapsing to the ground.

Upon awakening Xavier got dressed and again started his daily exercises. He now knew why he was compeled to do them as well as what purpose they served. It seemed that he knew many new things, almost like he had all of the world's knowledge in his head even though he was aware that this was not the case. After finishing his exercises Xavier stepped into the hall in the hopes of finding some food. As he wandered the halls he thought about all he had "learned" and suddenly he realized he had all this knowledge but no idea what his physical appearance was. Beginning to concentrate a bit more now, Xavier noticed that although he'd never seen these hallways before he still knew where to go. A few more minutes of walking and he arrived at a bathroom door. Inside Xavier took a long look at himself, taking in his sheer size, the bright green of his eyes, and the dark red of his hair which was rather wild at the moment. At that thought he unconsciously reached into his jeans pocket and produced a small strip of black leather which he used to tie his hair into order. He also examined the logo on his neck and the tatooes on his hands, which seemed to have slipped his notice till now and something told him he had one on his back as well. Taking one last look Xavier left the bathroom and continued his wandering.

"There you are, I was wondering where you had gone off to."

Xavier turned around and saw Dr. Lacon coming towards him down the hallway so he stopped and waited for him to catch up.

"How do you feel?"

"I feel ready, when do I begin training my powers?" was Xavier's reply.

"Soon first we have to wait for the others. When everyone's ready we'll gather together." He lead Xavier to a large empty room, "Here is where we shall wait hopefully it shouldn't be long."

"You understand the plan now?' The scientist asked Leverik after going over the plan with him. Leverik simply nodded. "Good, all I want you to do for right now though is just go with the flow, don't make much resistance or anything we can't give them any chance of firguring it out." Again, Leverik nodded. "Alright then, now that we got that cleared, I guess I better give you my name" Leverik interrupted him "It's Doctor Journeyman." Statled, the doctor said "I guess I should've known you would have known that, now we better get you your equipment anyways." The doctor walked over to a wall in the empty room and hit one of the tiles. He then walk to the other side and hit another tile, then he went into the middle and hit one last tile. He the walked back towards Leverik and said "You better get closer to the wall." Which Leverik did so. The ceiling opened up and a table decended from the opening. On it laid 2 pistols, a hookshot, and a sword. "Once we initiate our plan, I will give you your true equipment, but for now this will have to do." The doctor said once that table was set firmly on the ground. Leverik then walked over and took the quipment ad said. "Something doesn't seem right, its like I can feel like I can be, stronger. Doc, what am I feeling?" Leverik said as he gathered the supplies. "That is one of the things I did that I wasn't suppose to. Its true that everyone has powers, and its true that they can grow, but the one thing they can't do is evolve." The doc anwsered. "Evolve? But, how?" Leverik stated, confused by this information. The doc simply anwsered "I don't know what your powers will turn into, I just know that they will grow to a force that is unimaginable."

"Well, that was less than entertaining." Bridger said to Lonnquist as he sipped a beer in the vacant mess hall. They heard the door unlatch and saw the head scientist enter the room. "Please, follow me."

They followed him to a large grey door that opened after he inserted a key in a small slot in a wall unit. It opened to reveal an enormous hangar. The place was absent of any vehicles, actually, it looked more like a new warehouse than part of a military installation. The far doors to the outside were shut and the only thing illuminating the place were several floodlights hanging from the ceiling. The lights made the room feel hot and uncomfortable to Bridger.

In the center of the room sat three bleachers side by side. They looked as if they were stolen from a little league baseball field. Another high ranking officer entered the room. The scientist motioned to him. "Tell the others, as soon as they're ready, to come here." The officer nodded and left without saying a word.

"The head." Patricia said. A bullet pierced the paper right between the eyes.

"The gun." Patricia said. A bullet zipped right through the handgun.

"The right knee." Patricia said. A hole magically appeared dead in the center of the right knee.

"I'm empty on this clip." Kristen said, and looked at where Patricia was standing. They were both wearing ear muffs with mics attached, and Kristen was in small firearms training. Patricia nodded. "That should be it. I'll take the gun now." Kristen lowered the gun and brought it to Patricia and she took it. "No other weapons to train with?" Kristen asked. Patricia shook her head. "It wasn't really weapons training. It was just a test of your hand-eye coordination, like all the other tests. You've done very, very well." Kristen liked compliments for some reason and when she heard the muffled voice, she removed her ear muffs and stared at the origin, a loudspeaker. Patricia looked where Kristen was looking and took hers off, too.

"I didn't get the message until it was too late." Kristen said. Patricia looked at her watch. If everything was going according to schedule, then it was time for the subjects to gather in the warehouse. "I think I know what's going on. C'mon, let's get going, Kristen...ehh...Total Force. We need to report to the warehouse. The others should be going there, soon."

Raith had handled the sudden assimilation of all that knowledge well. Though he seemed quite subdued he had been deft in all the tests given to him. The scientist who had been in charge of the Xenogenesis project (Dr Stone) did have some concerns about whether this would hinder his combat ability as he didn't appear to possess the killer instinct. Still, he seemed to simply do as he was told, perhaps this was enough.

Raith on the other hand had come to a growing awareness of what exactly he and the others had been created for. They were weapons, pure and simple. He had shown no sign of what he thought of this yet. And he knew that those in charge of the project feared their potential. Raith possesses an intimate awareness of his own form, both mentally and physically. He knows of the the psychic inhibitors and commands hardwired into his being. Yet he doesn't feel resentment.

After his basic training is complete - everything from firearms handling to etiquitte - Raith is sent down to the warehouse. It seems that their advanced training is about to begin.

One of the doctors walked up to interface as he was getting dressed.

"let me guess, you want to see how quickly I can infiltrate a system without being detected."

"well, yes, but how did you..."

"five minutes"

"what?"

"that's how long it took me to get through the system from my capsule to the memory re-imager"

"so that was..."

"me? yes, and I grabbed a few extra files. Personnel data and the like while I was at it. I was caught when they started banging on my capsule distracting me, and I accidently brushed an antivirus wrong, slowing down the system."

"how much did you grab?"

"enough to know that now what is being tested is my ability to manipulate objects linked to me."

"all right, so let's go"

"this way is a shortcut, I got a schematic of the base while I was at it."

Interface walked over to a panel, and removed it, then reached inside and moved the equipment lining the walls to create a path.

"what? this gets us to the equipment storage room"

"yes, but that's not the testing facility"

"it's where we get the stuff for the training, and despite the length of the hallway, which is deliberately long, allowing you doctors to talk to us longer, they are next door to each other, and there is a ventilation panel"

"maybe you were a bad idea."

"no, i was a perfect idea, when you are potentially stronger than anyone else, you play exactly by the rules, and never break them. they may be bent, but never broken. The rules exist for a reason, and i exist for the rules."

A little while ago, an annoucement had been made over the intercom. Runner had been reading through the papers left to him by his deceased creator. They detailed his powers and some other minor things. The last few papers were notes from other scientists who either knew Dr. Lawrence or were just nice people. After Runner finished looking through the papers he got up and headed to the training room. He had already experienced his powers when he paniced in his capsule. It had caused him to black out and when he reached the training room he didn't know what to expect.

Leverik thought it strang about the way the doctor had been going on and on about his powers, for really, he coudln't feel them. He actually didn't talk about the powers themselves, just what they could become. He decided best just to nod his head and agree, still curious as to why Doc kept going on and on. Of course, there was nothing happening right now for they both had just reached the training ground, and the information he had woken up with and told was actually quite strange. Why did I wake up with this knowledge? He thought to himself. Is the Doc just too impatient and gave the knowledge quickly, or was the other forces involved? The question seemed to pop itself in his mind, along with other things. Something told him that Doc was not to be trusted, but then again who is there to trust. By the sounds of it, the Doc makes it sound like he should be able to dominate the world, yet his powers only mean he can run up and across a wall. It seemed strange, in fact, maybe something, no, best not to dwell on it now, looks like someone is about to do something. He thought as he watched some more people enter the room.

Dr. Ruthored, Jacob's creator, tried to get Jacob to wear his clothes correctly. Jacob let the doctor help him switch the pieces of clothing he put in the wrong place, but he refused to take the boxers off his head. He liked the feeling of having something over his head.

As the doctor began to step up the machine to teach Jacob some of the English language, three small, green balls appeared around Jacob. He didn't know what they were, but when he touched them it didn't hurt, so he began to play with them. To his delight, the balls would grow and shrink when Jacob wanted them too. But, he had no control over how big or small they were. Eventually, one of the balls exploded in Jacob's hand, burning it slightly.

Dr. Ruthored heard the explosion and the yelp from his 'son'. He quickly brought over a hypodermic needle, and pumped what was inside into Jacob. The substance calmed him down, and relieved the pain as well. He also used this time to begin to teach Jacob the some english language, common sense, and other basic concepts, like eating, that Jacob would need to live. Nothing violent or overwhelming was programmed to be taught, since with Jacob's power, a sudden burst of information and ideas could become lethal. He also included a little bit about Jacob and his power, so he would not be suprised when more green balls appeared.

He put the helmet over Jacob's head, and let it run.

Later, Jacob and Dr. Ruthored entered the warehouse. Jacob had replaced the boxers on his head with a bandana, since while he now knew how rediculous the boxers were, he liked the feeling still. In Jacob's hand was a single green ball, which Jacob was toying around with.

"I know."

"Fine, see if you can hit the head," the scientist commanded. Nikolai raised the gun, took quick aim, and suddenly made the whole target explode in a brilliant burst of reddish fire and black smoke. "Damn it, you were supposed to shoot it!"

"Where's the fun in that?" Nikolai asked with a smirk, turning to face the scientist. Then, he overdramatically looked from the scientist, to the gun, and then back to the scientist. "Oh... I get it."

"Don't even think about it. We have neural inhibiters you know. In case you get out of hand." Nikolai frowned, he didn't like the sound of that, but he wouldn't just surrender his fun either.

Nikolai watched from a distance as the scientist looked as if he was about to explode. "Just what did Dr. Procheskov do? He gave his project some sort of homosidal personality," the scientist fumed to another, "He has no respect for orders, he's forcefully resistant, he can already control his powers... to some extent, and he's had countless problems in the past."

"He was merely a prototype... we all knew that. We knew he might have problems that the others wouldn't. And we were prepared that if we couldn't fix them, he'd have to be terminated-"

Nikolai went into shock at hearing this. Terminate him?

"-do you think we should?"

The first, more irate scientist sighed, "I think we might. He's too powerful to have around if he's malfunctioning. Hell, if he didn't have the inhibiter I'd fear for our lives."

"Uh... sir. They don't have inhibiters..." The first scientist went very pale at this, "It was discontinued because we couldn't keep them from being rejected. And the 'higher up's were worried that it would be seen as slavery."

"Slavery? They're not humans, they're weapons. And they took away the safety to keep public opinion favorable?"

"I-I'm a... weapon? Not a human? They... they want to kill me. No inhibiter? I'm not a human? HOW DARE THEY!?" the thoughts rushed through Nikolai's head and he began to grow very, very angry. But he couldn't act now... no, he would wait for the proper chance. Perhaps if he didn't act up for a while, they wouldn't try to terminate him just yet. He was powerful after all...

Once Achilles was dressed the scientist led his creation along the cold hallways of the installation toward the learning chamber. Unlike the other scientists, Nietz was a pragmatic man and stayed silent for the trip, merely pointing where they needed to go. Achilles would have been unable to understand his speaking as of yet anyway, so it would have been pointless to prattle on about the wonders of science to his creation.

Achilles, on the other hand, was still in a state of wonderment of this world that wasn't dreams. He pulled his gloves off so that he could trail his fingers along the cold metal walls of the hallway as they walked, and began to step down harder and in a beat, drumming out a rhythmic, albeit extremely simple tune, upon the metal floors. Occassionally he'd kick a wall with his steel toed boots, creating a, to him, satisfying clang, and would revel in its sound.

That is until Nietz reached out and placed Achilles's leg back down and shook his head, stopping the super soldier before he made any more dents in the wall.

It wasn't long before the two reached the learning chamber and Achilles sat down, taking everything in stride as the helmet was pressed down onto his head, and the metal prongs came around to hold his eyes open. Had Nietz not been gently holding his hands down, he most likely would have torn the prongs apart for touching him, but he was reassured that he wouldn't be harmed in his, yet, primal mind.

Soon, however, the images began to warp into him, bending his mind and pushing it to what would have been a normal human's limit. Achilles was no normal human, however, and so he merely enjoyed as his mind was forced to concentrate. Each image and sound frozen into his brain quickly and solidly. Almost all of it concentrated on battle tactics and martial arts, along with the basic things that people would need to know in order to get along. Reading, writing, who the current bands were, etc.

When it finished, where many had been happy to have the ordeal end, Achilles merely looked up at Dr. Nietz and said one word. "More."

"More?"

"Yes, I wish to learn more. Show me more," Achilles stated calmly.

Nietz, however, shook his head and grabbed Achilles, attempting to lift him from the chair. "No. It is time for battle demonstrations, and you are only cleared for what was recorded there."

The doctor, however, soon found himself in immense pain, as Achilles twisted his wrist, breaking the doctor's grip, and then grabbed the man's arm, squeezing it, barely keeping himself from breaking the man's arm.

"A...Achilles! S... stop this... immediately!" Nietz said while clawing at the hand latched onto him.

"...Why are you speaking so strangely?" Achilles asked, genuinly confused, without removing his grasp.

"You're hurting me!"

"Oh." Achilles stated before tightening his grip, the man's bones straining under the pressure. "Then teach me more."

"A... alright! Just release me!"

Achilles did as he was asked and sat back while Nietz rubbed his arm and walked over to a computer, punching in commands to bring up a new learning course to be implanted, being sure that this one was quite heavy upon morality and ethics, before pressing the enter button, causing the helmet to once more go down.

Hours passed before Achilles was done, and Nietz, still craddling his injured arm, led him toward the empty hanger in silence, thinking strongly upon whether or not they HAD made a mistake creating these soldiers.

OOC- I signed up late too. I'm going to be a late waker in this post so if I should skip some things and go strait to the hanger, tell me.

IC- As James "Dynamite" awoke in his caplule, his mind reeled with memories. All the dreams, all the sensations associated with them... Before he could even move his body volentarily, he had to run over the entire time he was asleep in his mind, cherishing every detail with mathematical closeness. When he was done, he opened his eyes and found himself in a room, lying on a bed. In the room with him were three men in white coats, looking paniced. One of them noticed his eyes open and he yelled out in happiness, "He's awake!"

"I had my doubts about this one from the start." said one of the scientists. "It seemes his total recal wasn't too much for him after all. We don't have time to worry about clothes, just get him whatever you can find and start his training right away." The other two scientists led him away. He didn't object, being too busy observing the room in its entirety for future reference. Even the smallest detail may proove very important. They dressed him in the first outfit that they could find, it wasn't much, a white t-shirt and jacket and a pair of holey blue jeans, and sent him strait to the "classroom."

When he was done with his education, Dynamite felt refreshed. He now knew what he was and what he could do. Just then, the the other doctor entered the room. "Hi son," the doctor said with a mild southern accent. "My name is Dr. Jubal Harshaw. I'm the doctor who designed you. Feelin' alright?"

"Fine," Dynamite said, only giving the doctor about half of his atention. The other half was focusing on the strange electric feeling he was getting under the lights. "You're problably wondering what that electric feeling is," the doctor said and with that, he took a knife and, with perfect aim, threw it and sliced off one of Dynamite's fingers. The finger slowly began to grow back.
"Glad to see that that works too." the doctor said. "You can regenerate fingers and toes easily, but you need the charge you gather photogenicly in order to regenerate larger parts, like arms and legs. It takes four days for the charge to finish building, you'll know when it happens, and the charge can be used as a lightning attack opposed to quick healing, if you don't nead the pick-me-up. Your total recal and mathematical ability are automatic, I don't need to teach them to you. We're late so I'd better get you to the hanger as soon as possible." Dynamite loged this information in his memory to be drawn on later if needed and ignored it for the time being. He was too busy feeling the pain of his severed finger and the odd feeling of it's regeneration. He didn't object as they then escorted him to the hanger with the others.

Several hours later...
Shruikan could feel the energy coursing through his veins. A crate lifted off the ground and floated over to him, only to be sliced in half by a lighting fast energy blade. The halves were incinerated as he fire dusted them. His training was finished, it was time to put his plan that he had been thinking of since he could think clearly, into motion.
The man in the glass screen spoke " Good job Shruikan!". But he responded "Shut up" he said softly as he shot a crate through the glass window the man was behind, imbedding glass shards into his chest. He TKed himself up to the height of the window and held his lightsaber with his right hand, energy blade protruding from his left. He flipped the saber up to the man's throat, saying "Too easy" as he sliced the man's lungs open. He got rid of the evidence by burning the corpse and anything that might have a trail on it.
He was escaping the facility, shooting any guards he might come upon, rolling to grab their ammo, and using firedust to fire it at video camera's that might get him caught. He came upon a steel door, two inches thick, no hollow spaces. He would have to put on a big show to get past this.
The energy blade slid silently out of his left hand, lightsaber in his right. He got a running start and plunged the blades through the metal. With a high degree of difficulty he managed to cut a 2 ft by 3 ft hole in the solid door.
He escaped into the scorching desert. Leaving a trail of blood behind him. His plan to escape the base was a sucess, though not quite as he planned it.
After hour's of walking north through the desert he finally came to the border. He walked through it, but was stopped when the metal detector went off. Look's like he wasn't going to maintain a low profile after all. Two corpses in two toll booths lay there, their lungs collapsed on themselves. Shruikan now casually walked through a large city, Santa Fe. He joined in with the Mafia, quickly advancing to the best hitman in the state (and that was just what they knew for a fact. No one knew how he killed the targets, so on one hit, the boss planted a video surveillance device on him. They could see everything he could, and more. They watched with jaws agape as he lifted people through the air without touching them, shooting bullets without a gun. This went on for about three missions without Shruikan knowing. But, after the third mission, the boss called him into his office. "Take a seat kid" he said. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO F****** CALL ME THAT DAMMIT!" shruikan responed as he slammed his fist down on the boss's desk. "Right, right, sorry. But the reason I called you in here was- we noticed your "special abilities". "How the hell would you know about that?!" Shruikan said angrily, energy blade ready to come out of his hand at any moment. "Well, we didn't know how you killed the targets, so...." he was cutoff as he was stabbed in the stomach with an energy blade. Shruikan then did a backflip kick in the Boss's face, sending him out a 20 story window. "No one spies on me" Shruikan spoke as he left the room.
The escape from the building wasn't that difficult. He used his abilities to shift his clothing to look like one of the normal men in suits hanging around an empty hall. He casually walked out the front door and then turned to face it, "I'll never go back to that life. It sucked more ass than Billy Crystal.- thinking- Ba-Zing!"
He just now remembered the grenades they gave him for a hit that he didn't use. He smiled and used Telekinesis to plant one every three floors in the 20 story building, then pulled the pins one by one. They went off at the same time, showering gangster everywhere. "That was gonna be a bitch to clean up. Good thing he wasn't doing it" he thought as he walked away.

OOC-
1. Sorry. I didn't exactly read your character sheet, nor did I read closely the posts before mine after a certain point, being ancious to catch up, so I didn't KNOW that you had regeneration powers. I just kind of skimmed it. Let's change it to say that the "growth" power on my character sheet only works at all at full charge. Don't forget that it takes four days, real time, not game time, for the charge to top, and I can only do one of the two powers on the day that it maxes out, and only once on that day. A lot can happen in four days. I learned that the hard way and I tried very hard not to godmod.

2. As for the doctor knowing the nature of my powers, I don't expect you to have read "Stranger in a Strange Land," the book where Jubal Harshaw comes from, but sufice it to say that he's a pimp and he always knows what he's talking about.

3. Sparda, you bloody hypocrit! You are not one to be talking to me about confirmation. You didn't even ask anybody. You just said you were in and started making posts. Bob the Mercinary certainly didn't give you any kind of permission, unless he sent you a private message, which I greatly doubt.

4. You know what realy annoys me? People who say "If it weren't so impolite, i'd say blah, blah, blah." If you're going to insult someone, don't beat around the bush. It makes you look like a jackass.

The rest of this conversation should be held at the discusion thread. If you post any more of you greivances here, I shall simply ignore them.

Dean walked over to the bleachers and sat down on the second row, far left side while Adams went over to talk to the other arriving scientists.
He sighed as he tried to think about what had happend before he woke up, but couldnt remember anything. He looked at his hands, the tough skin and claws, why didnt anyone else have claws like himself? Why was he able to turn invisible, even though he he didnt know why, he could feel it, and when he wanted it he could use it.

He ran his fingers threw his hair and continued to watch the people that came into the hanger, I wonder what they can all do?

Since things were taking time to get rolling, Kristen decided to strike up more conversation with Patricia, her caretaker.

Kristen: "I'm quite limited when it comes to striking from a distance."
Patricia: "Yes, that's true, but since you haven't reached optimum maturation, more of your powers can expected to surface as you engage in the fight of the lives of everyone."
Kristen: "I hope so. Life won't be easy if I have to get within touching distance to do the serious damage."
Patricia: "I'm not entirely sure how you'll develop, but I imagine you'll be using force to accomplish so many things. Some ideas I've got would be crushing something in a field that retracts. Or you might be able to create platforms or even staircases of force for when ways up just aren't available. Currently, you can only seem to generate force as a spherical shape, and only from your extensions. One day, you might be able to create force tentacles that could pick locks, distract wary eyes, and retrieve items that would normally be out of reach."
Kristen: "That's a lot of directions that my powers can go."
Patricia: "Yes. Ugh, this is taking forever. You'd think they'd prepare some refreshments for you guys. You haven't eaten anything in so long."
Kristen: "Well, I am kinda hungry."

Everyone was finally seated on the bleachers as the officer took role call. All were accounted for.

The head scientist approached the center of the hangar and addressed his audience.

"I imagine you are all a bit confused at what has happened to you over the past day. The changes you have endured usually take at least 17 years for a normal human to experience. Yes, I can never truthfully call any of you 'normal'. You are different, new, the first of your kind. You are unlike any who have preceeded you.

But, I will tell you what you do have in common with the rest of the human race. You were created, as any other living thing is, with a purpose. You are supposed to do something. You were made with the specific intent of achieving an objective.

However, before I tell you what that grand goal is, allow me to enlighten you on a few things. You were and still are part of a top secret, privately funded project that not even the government knows about. Why did we do this, you ask? Was it for money, or out of curiosity? Was it for the advancement of science? No.

Ever since the early 2100s, gangs and crime syndicate activity and abundance has been rising at a disturbing rate, funding has been slowly cut from the local police forces, and laws have become less and less enforceable. We don't know where the money from the police goes once the government has it, but because of that, we tell them nothing.

You've all realized by now that you are in possession of several unique traits. As regular and everyday as you think these are, you are the only people on Earth who can handle them. You were designed that way. By now you know everything about the birds and the bees so this will be easier to understand.

Our top geneticists took one sperm and one egg for each of you, but before the embryo was allowed to multiply, they altered the DNA sequence and added a few choice chemicals of our own to mold you into what we wanted you to be. This is why you have those powers.

You all have parents. I bet you didn't even realize that, but you do. I'm sorry you won't be seeing them for a while, but maybe someday you will. Their identities are being withheld as a security precaution. We needed donors and they were all nice enough to help. They understood the coming threat just as we did.

In a few moments, I will be releasing you to go out and do what you wish. I encourage you to get to know each other. Teamwork will play a large part in your adventures. Our mess hall has been fully stocked just for you. You will also find a television in there to help you catch up on current events.

Your routine will go like this. When there is trouble, be it in a city, on a boat, hell it could even be in space, you will be called upon to bring justice and vengeance down on those who would harm the innocent. The first thing you must do, though, is retrieve your equipement if you have not already done so, including this."

He pulled out something that looked like a pocket television.

"This is your All-Purpose Field Communicator, or APFC. You can use it to store information, talk to each other using live video feeds, and even do on-the-spot background checks just by pointing it at someone. It will produce an instant file showing all relevant facts about the person, including picture.

In the field, you will be each other's best friends. You are all the world has left. You are the elite of the elite. You are super soldiers."

He began to walk away, then turned. "By the way, my name is Dr. Joshua Ringen. Nice to meet you."

Patricia handed Kristen her APFC computer with a smile. Kristen found that it was carefully painted a bright green. "I spent hours painting this thing so you better be grateful. Also, take these things."

Patricia opened a chest and pulled out a handgun. "The ammunition in this gun has two functions. If you press on this little square here on the side, you'll see it change colors. It'll only respond to your fingerprint for both the mode change and the trigger to the gun itself, so even if your enemy steals it and pulls the trigger, it'll lock, just as if the gun was on safety. When the mode panel is blue, the shots ejected will be explosive. They'll drill into a fleshy body and detonate after three seconds from impact. If the mode panel is red, the shots ejected will be armor piercing. They'll go through some pretty hard stuff. If you're a damn good shooter, you may consider firing a hole into your enemy with the armor piercing to negate its defenses and then switch and fire an explosive to do your major damage. Of course, since it's very difficult to hit a target in the exact same place, the exact same way, twice ["something IHMN's character could do"], I don't think you'd bother with it unless you're desperate. The clips for the gun are painted red or blue to help you determine which rounds are which and so are the clip slots that designate which clip goes where. If you mess it up, it's just a simple matter of rethinking how the gun fires. That should be easy enough once you get some real hard practice with it. Now, here's a fresh change of your clothes. Your clothes are made of a special polyfibre which is more protective, though not by much. Anyways, let's get to really playing with your powers. I'm going to teach you how you can use your environment along with your powers to your advantage."

Kristen closed her eyes for a minute to absord all of this, then looked at Patricia and nodded. "Let's do this."

Interface retreived his apfc which had been modified by the scientists from the normal format, allowing him to better use it in conjunction with his power.

He placed it within a specially designed slot on his clothing which kept it in contact with his skin without interfering with anything.

He looked at the others, learning more about them as he did so, complementing the information he had retrieved earlier.

"interesting"

he also retrieved a long cable on a specially designed spool

this would allow him to whip and grab things at a distance, also capable of snaking around corners to test traps.

before he could do anything else, however, a switch was flipped, and he appeared in a large room with a grid pattern on the walls and ceiling.

There were no doors or windows, but the walls seemed to glow with an inner light.

Before he could do anything, an intercom blared.

"you are now in combat testing facility 000213. here you will be tested for actual combat situations, rather than simply firing at targets. in addition to yourselves, we will be testing a special field in which no damage or destruction can occur. It only works within a confined space, so there is not much military application other than testing, but if it works then we can have other soldiers fight each other in these. right now, however, we are merely seeing whether or not the walls get damaged. The others are being placed within their own testing units, and as you advance, you will be grouped together, eventually with all of you in the same unit. once you have been tested there, you will all be moved to the streets of the capitol where a number of discontent have taken it into their heads to drive a couple of tanks around scaring people. you may deal with that any way you wish, but we would prefer that they not die. the others are recieving the same speech you are, and you will not hear anything else from us until you have completed that mission. be warned. operation commencing. now"

A couple of large walker assault vehicles now stood within the room, and the room faded away to reveal an abandoned section of roadway.

The walkers were facing away from him, so he snuck up on one of them and forced it to fire at the other, shooting off the weaponry and damaging the hydraulics, but leaving any potential occupant intact. he then convinced the same parts in the one he was grappling to malfunction.

the road and the walkers faded away, and another of his fellow soldiers faded into focus.

Leverik ran straight towards the other one and ran up and backflipped off the machine while the other shot it to bits. His landing wasn't perfect, but it was enough to get him to a running position to charge at the other one. Instead of running at it, he ran in circles around it, just fast enough to keep out of the radius of the guns, and of course firing his pistols into the machine. Finally the machine stopped after a bullet hit the main processing unit in it and he was transported into another room. He looked around and noticed someone was here, but then he heard something coming.

These specific vehicles have a minute weakness in their armor, which breaks at a certain psi in perticular. As Dynamites hand hit it, it caved in, exposing wires. Dynamite then mounted himself on the back of the vehicle and hard wired it to fire on it's comrad, then rewired it to blow up the fuel tank. Since the pasenger compartment was heat shielded, neither pilot was harmed. Dynamite just barely cleared the blast.

then he fought with 3 others agaist an airship, he rode the dragon to the top taking out the turrets as he went and puntured the hydrogen tank "Humans never learn" he thought to himself and once a safe distance away shot a flaming arrow at it and it exploded. he was then sent to a new place

OOC: And you read the discussion. Several things wrong with you and your character.

IC:

Jacob's creator had gotten him his APFC, since he didn't want to disturb him. Jacob had not gone along with everyone else, and continued to play with his ball. He had gotten control over the ball, and could change it as he pleased.

Dr. Ruthored decided this would be a good time to teach Jacob more about his powers, since he had gotten control of a small portion of it. He took Jacob along with him to his lab, where he hooked Jacob up to the virtual helmet so he could teach the super soldier a little more.

scratch the battles in last post

The weaver superheats the walkers until they are molten and then freezes them and hits the now extremely brittle melty looking machines

he fights w/ his staff by extending the blades on either end and doing complex spins, vaults, and stabs/slashes the enemies to their death

then he heats the hydrogen in the zepplin until it explodes

EDIT: is that ok?

Adams brought Dean to a room that changed into a scene with walkers, he emmidiatally turned invisable and crawled up a wall, getting into a position where he could jump down on one. When he got above one he jumped down on top of it, the pilot heard him fall on top and called one of his friends to look at the top of his walker. One of the others looked at it and saw nothing, reported it to his friend, and continued his destruction.
Dean pulled his rifle from his back and loaded it with armor piercing rounds. He put it to the suposeble place at where the power source was and pulled the triger, jumping from the walker to another building, placing the rifle on his back and clinging to the wall with his claws.
The walker blew up and he, took aim for the next one in the same place before it had a chance to turn around and see what had happend. The third turned on its inferred vison, and saw him aiming at him. Dean pulled the triger as the walker unloaded on him, it blew up but Dean had to ditch his rifle to get out of the way, he watched his rifle fall into pieces to the ground.

OOC: It seems to me that's it s still a bit too much. You need far more description in your posts. Otherwise it confuses people and often makes it look far too easy for you to win.

Raith calmly watches the virtual reality appear around him. The three walkers were heaviliy armoured but they would have a vulnerable spot, somewhere that weaker armour was necessary. The weapons they carried looked quite powerful. Fortunately they are not aware of him yet and he decides to capitalise on it. He moves swiftly to hide behind a pile of rubble and extends a mental probe. The walker's pilots were not particularily alert and this gives Raith the opporntunity he needs. With a sudden whiplike strike he thrusts a impulse into one of the pilot's minds. Taken unaware that pilot can't resist the mental command and he gives a sudden jerk on his controls, swinging to the right and firing the high calibre machine guns the walker is armed with. He crashes into the walkers next to him and the guns spray the others with bullets. The walkers he had run into is knocked down and the pilot of the other takes a should wound as the high power weaponry shatters the glass of the cockpit.

Raith capitalises on the confusion and leaps to the attack. He is carrying a high powered assault rifle and he had also taken advantage of his quick intrusion in the pilots mind to get a rough idea of the walker's layout. He moves forwards at a fast walk laying down a steady fire upon the more vulnerable fuel cell located on the walker's back. The bullets penetrate and ignite the fuel, making the walker collapse in flames upon the first downed one.

The final walker steps clear of the wreckage and its torso swivels around to find the attacker. Raith had already switched to a more accurate single fire mode and tracks the cockpit, wiating for a good moment to fire. When the walker almost has him within the sights of its guns he fires off a single round, going through the hole that the other walker's weaponry had already made in the cockpit window and hits the pilot in the head. A fortunate shot as the walker was far more heavily armed form the front and was agile enough to evade any grenades he hurled. As the scene blurs away he wonders what the next challenge will be.

OOC: Druidal, it's clear you haven't been here that long, and that you're still either getting used to RPing, or posting in general. Your current power is way too strong for this rp. It may work in a "war of the gods" thread, but it has no purpose here. I'll have to agree with the others on this. Either modify your character so that he goes along with the story and is not a god, or find another rp.

[Edit] By the way, after this training exercise is over, we're going to the next chapter.

OOC: Sorry for not posting for so long but I was sick. BtM gave me the ok to catch-up though so here goes.

IC: During the gathering and speech in the warehouse Xavier had wanted to go and meet everyone but had felt rather shy and instead had talked with Dr. Lacon. The doctor had explained to Xavier in more detail about the project that created him as well as his powers. After the speech he had followed most of the others through Interface's shortcut and into the equipment room. Once there he had been issued his APFC in addition to an incredibly large broadsword and a harness that strapped to his back and was specially made to hold the sword's extreme weight. Once prepared Dr. Lacon flipped a switch that sent Xavier into the training room, where he was given a short speech about what would occur before commencing the exercise.

When the walkers appeared Xavier decided he wanted to try powers out before using the cool sword they had given him. The walkers hadn't spotted him yet so he took the opportunity to form his armor into forearm-length gauntlets and a chest plate. As the first walker approached it was still focused elsewhere so Xavier sprinted towards it at full speed. It spotted him and opened fire just as he reached the legs, using his momentum Xavier smashed his fist straight through one leg sending the thing sprawling to the ground in a crumpled heap.

Now however the other two had a lock on him and opened fire as he dove into a building for cover. Inside he spotted a staircase and move quickly to the roof where he could see the walkers moving into position on either side of the building. When they had moved close enough Xavier drew his sword and leapt from the building right at the nearest one. Swinging the sword over handed he sliced cleanly through the back half of the machine destroying it. At this point though he was off balance and landed hard on his side in flash of pain.

While he struggled to stand and regain his breath the other walker emerged from the far side of the structure and began firing striking Xavier fully in the chest plate which sent him crashing through a wall. When he hit the ground Xavier tried vainly to roll to his right so as to avoid anymore incoming fire, luckily there was a small decline in this direction helping him to roll about five feet downhill. This kept him safe long enough to regain his breath and balance and launch another attack. As the walker prepared to skirt around the wall Xavier silently flanked it. Moving in he swiftly sliced through the legs bringing the final machine down.

As the smoke cleared Xavier could vaguely see another teammate nearby but before he could make them out the scene changed and the attacks began again.

Kristen walked into the testing room...and the door suddenly shut behind her. She whirled around to find that Patricia wasn't with her. "Hey, what the hell is going on?" She said, and the loudspeaker up in the top corner piped up. "Testing? Testing? All right, everything seems to be in order. You have learned much about the actual applications of your powers, but we must test every aspect of your abilities so that you can actually use the powers. The first test will be to block incoming baseballs from the dispenser. You can see it some distance ahead of you. Use your hands and feet as you see fit to block the incoming balls. Are you ready?"

Kristen looked at the ball dispenser, and nodded. "Yeah, I'm ready." Kristen shrugged, and the force fields emerged from her hands. Suddenly, the first ball was ejected. "Agh!" Kristen yelped as the ball went right for her stomach, and protected it with her hands. The ball bounced clean off the force fields. Kristen froze and looked at her hands. "I...I can do this!" She said, and clasped her hands together, making the force field grow bigger and more powerful. She worked her arms quickly, knocking back balls with repeated bashes. Suddenly, in a fit of confident, she swung her arms at one of the balls, and launched it back at the dispenser. She left a sizeable dent into it. The voice in the loudspeaker was condescending. "I wish you wouldn't destroy our property, but I guess the damage you dealt to the dispenser would help you master your powers only more than you already have. That should be that. Please continue to the next chamber."

Runner had been hiding behind a pile of debris for nearly ten minutes. Without warning he had been thrust into a battleground. He didn't know where he was, but he was being attacked. He didn't know what the machines were doing now, and he assumed he was safe where he was. Then everything disappeared and he was back in the room he had started in. A voice blared over an intercom.

"What are you doing? If you can't fight we'll have no need for you."

"How do I fight with no weapons?"

"Weapons? Use your powers. They should be able to help in some way otherwise you're useless."

"I don't know enough about my powers."

"What! They sent you in without knowing your powers? Well I have them right here...Oh yeah I know you! Your the one who uses metal and electricity."

"Is that all you know? It's all I know too." Runner asked and nearby a door opened. A young scientist walked in.

"Hey, I'm the guy on the intercom. Name's Daman. I researched your powers when you were first thought up. Your creator was kind of a idol for me. I'll tell you all I know."

'Zhard was taken too a room that suddenly changed into a battleground with three walker veichles comming towards him, the first opened fire and he barely shielded himself with his right arm. Then he ran towards some cover too avoid being crisped.
"crap! what am i going too do against these!" he said too himself desperately as he jumped out of the cover and rushed towards the closest one, it started too fie but was too slow in moving the guns so Zhard was able too run close enough too be able too jump on top of it.
"this should be the power suply" he said as he started too drain the power with his right hand' the walker fell apart and he started too run towards the second one, although it was more ready and shot him in the chest so hard that he flew right threw a buildings door twenty meters away.
"argh! that hurt..." Zhard said as his wound regenerated. "luckily i had the armour" he said as he remembered his sword. "of course! i can use that!" he said as he drew it from his back and jumped out of a window ight onto the third walker which he stabed in the power suply and then rushed towards the second and cut of its left leg as he ran past it.

"I'm on it!" Leverik shouts as he runs into the first column. The machines managed to lock on him and started firing and without thinking, Leverik took his hookshot and shot at the far back one. Then the hookshot jerked him off his feet, and recieving a couple of nicks from the shots he manages to get through them all, they do hit each other, but as soon as they realized they were firing on each other they stopped. Grabbing his psitol, he fires a few shots in the cockpit of the walker he is on and then takes off running through the group again.

Runner had learned a decent bit about his powers. He recieved weapons, a very thin razor wire and a steel crossbow. It had been pure luck that the young scientist, Chris Daman, happened to be watching his training session. Without Chris he might have been dubbed "worthless" which, he assumed, would have some bad reprucussions. So he went back into his training with a confident mind and came out a worthy warrior. Although he still had much to learn, it was late and he needed to sleep. He was rather disappointed that he hadn't gotten to train with any of the other Soldiers and went to bed hoping to meet all the others tomorrow.

Nikolai fumbled with the taken katana attached to his belt as he watched the others fight with incredible power. Perhaps there was something akin to awe in his observing, or perhaps it was understanding. Perhaps the scientist was right... perhaps they were nothing but weapons. Perhaps he was nothing more than a weapon. But, he was a weapon with free will. He could fight for himself, he could choose not to fight. He could choose who would "wield" him, if anyone. He just needed more time to think, to come to grips with this reality. As the training simulation ended, he sought the solitude of his quarters.

Patricia opened the door for Kristen. It was so white inside. The walls, the bed, the refridgerator. "This is your quarters and you're free to do whatever you want in here. At some point later in the morning of everyday, your room will be cleaned for you, so you don't need to even bother with making the bed. Please get some rest, Kristen. Hopefully things won't be so trying tomorrow."

Kristen nodded, and Patricia stepped out of the room, closing the door. Kristen didn't feel really tired, and discovered the video games consoles way sooner than she thought she should have. She dozed off in her comfortable chair right after saving her game and turning the system and television off.

After they had all gotten together and peacefully stopped the tanks, they had learned it had just been another projection.

There had been a lot of arguing, but it was generally accepted that had they known it was a projection they wouldn't have tried to save those inside.

Afterwards, Interface found his room, and discovered that while he, too had a game system in his, it was strung out across the wall, with all the wires ending at the bed.

Interface removed the harder equipment from his outfit and placed it within a compartment in the matress which had been showed to him.

He climbed into bed, and dreamed of games

IC: Zhard did as Dynamite said and rushed towards the closest walker, he protected himself with his right arm and by jumping left too right as he rushed past it cleaving the leg and continued too strike down 2 more that was close too the first.

IC: The Weaver helps fight the tanks by making them get stuck in the asphalt and melt ing the barrel of the guns slightly. he then finds the gas tank and freezes the gas so the engines stall then he cuts the gas tanks and turns the gasoline to a gas he then says to surrendur unless they want him to seal the internal compartment with them in it. the he goes to bed after they surrender

When Zhard flew in front of him, Dynamite was suprised to see his quick regen. He had no time to worry about it, however, and filed it away. Thinking quickly, he ran twards one of the broken hulls and looked for the power cell.

"Ut, oh. This is different than the one in my memory! It's certainly too small to be fusion based." For the first time, Dynamite wondered if a plan of his would work. Pushing aside his forboding, he moved back into the shadows, following the remaining walkers.

Dynamite set the power cell to overload and jumped out of the shadows at the nearest walker, attaching the cell near a hook near the walker's leg joint (a major flaw in the design). When the overloading cell blew up, it took the legs off of the walker and it's closest buddy.

"One left, and i'm fresh out of ideas. I hope that wound wasn't too much for Zhard."

Then the hologram shut down.

Over a comm came a voice. "Dynamite, you took forever to act. Learn some iniceative. You two should get some rest. We'll see you again in the morning."

-"Zhard you did quite well, for being an earlier subject, although you should have dodged that blast, now get back and get some rest."

"earlier subject..." zhard said too himself as he stood up and checked too see if the wound was healed, he walked towards the exit.
