I've spoken to many, many anime fans, but none seem to know about Nadesico. Has anyone here heard of/seen it? It's one of my favorite series.

I own it and the movie. It's very high on my list, what with the rampant humor and satire. I've recently gotten into the manga, which is quite different. I like that for reasons dissimilar to my enjoyment of the anime.

Ruri Hoshino rocks.

Probably cuz you're talkingto people who only watch stuf on Cartoon Network.

Just about anyone else who knows about Anime knows what Nadesico is. Or at least has heard about it.

Ah Nadesico. This show has the honor of being the first anime I ever really watched.

Does anyone have word on what they're planning to do now? I want another movie damnit! Or even better, a second series!

The How-Mei Girls > Ruri

Edit - Well, that's not to say that Nadesico was the first anime I ever saw. Far from it, but that's another story.

The How-Mei Girls > Ruri

Blasphemer!!shift!1111!

I've heard no news about another movie, but that's not saying I've been looking. For as much as I watch and claim to know, I really don't keep up with "current" news.

Nadesico was a one time show, done by gathering many writers from famous shows into one show. It was very high budget, but always known to be a 1 time thing. They made the series, 1 movie and 2 games that are all connected by story, but the Movie clearly ends the series. No more of it is going to be made, and it is over 7 years old now, making it less popular and likely for any additions to it.

Heh, that's a good point. Been several years since the show was on air in Japan? There goes a lot of the chance for it to continue in some form. They don't care to live in the past much.

Wait, they really got all those authors? I always thought those were all jokes.

Nonetheless, I still want some form of continuation damnit!

The series was one of my favorite, but the movie left me with an, "Um, yeah..." kind of feeling. I had to watch it a few times before I caught everything.

I've seen it. Both the series and the movie. I own the movie soundtrack, actually.

The show was actually written in small 'arcs' by multiple writers. The shows directior wrote the first 5 episodes I believe (the beginning leading to when Gau dies follwed by another writer who wrote 2 or 3 episodes followed by another who wrote 2 or 3 episodes, etc. And I think the guy who wrote the first 5 episodes also wrote the last few episodes. Although I can't remember who wrote the episodes, they're all suppose to be famous Anime writers who wrote episodes for other shows like Escaflowne, Gundam, etc.

That's why it can't happen again. They'd have to get a bunch of writers back together again, after the show has been off their air already 7+ years (the show was 1997-1998 and the movie was 2000).

Muhuhuhuhahahahaha! Martian Succesor Nadesico, a anime involving, giant robots, beautiful women, a funny cartoon called Gekigengar III, romance, mystery, weird scientist/mechanic guys, "Aliens" (Jovian Lizards), and the typical inexperienced crew piloting the most powerful ship of its kind. Yes, I have seen it all, including the two movies. If you have any questions or need counsel concerning it, ask me, the Flare Knight. :fighter:

I edited your post, Ken. Next time if you're gonna put a spoiler in, perhaps use the black color I used, or at least put more than 5 charatcers of space between the warning and the actual spoiler, since anyone with an ounce of peripheral vision would have seen that.

Two Movies? I'm only aware of one, "The Prince of Darkness".

There's 2 movies? Is there some OVA I don't know about? Cuz I KNOW there's no second movie (they only made 1 at great expense and it took 2 years to do).

The Gekigangar thing is an OVA, 3 episodes I believe. Not a movie. It was never shown in theaters and was split up into 3 episodes I believe.

No, I'm pretty sure there is only one OVA thingy... That or I just couldn't find the others...They like go into a movie theatre or something and watch a Gekigengar movie and Akito's saying how he's never been to a movie theatre before... I don't know, it's been a while. I'll try to find out, but I'm not making any promises... I'll try asking my bro. :fighter:

BTW: By any chance could you be confusing it with "The Endless Waltz?"

I don't think that is possible.

Endless Waltz? That's the Gundam Wing Movie.

Which is why I'm over here saying that's not possible, even for the unobservant.
