EVIL High RP Interest thread

I'd like to claim responsibility for this idea, but then everyone who knows its origin would beat me to death. In fact this is an idea that I blatantly stole from an aquaintence of mine, but I couldn't resist bringing here.

Imagine your highschool, except even more evil, where everyone there was an evil genius or evil minion in training. Now imagine you form the elite of this school, the members of the AP EVIL class of Aught Four, where the test shall consist of the successful planning and exicution of your own EVIL scheme, which the class shall "cooperate" on.

This would be a more free-form RP than most, as you, the players, would drive the plot in any dirrection you choose. I am not ready yet to exicute this little game, mostly because I await being able to go through the dark tomes of the true evil genius who designed this world. Once I obtain this informatio, I will be able to RULE THE NPF RPS! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... *ahem* I mean run this RP.

But this is a chance to reserve your position and for me to drum up interest. I don't really want more than ten people in this RP, so grab your spot while its hot. Once I get the information I need, I'll create a formal sign up. Any takers?

Okay, as I said, this is a concept I'm stealing, not creatively producing, so I don't have an answer to all of your questions just yet. I'm relatively sure you have some powers, although to what extent I'm not sure. As for henchmen, I'd have to see. If such things as Henchmen are available and your character has the resorces personally, why the hell not? But it all comes down to what your character is capable of.

Your probably wrong. As I said, I stole this idea from a particular character who is unlikely to himself have stolen anything in particular himself and he claims originality.

Please be original in character creation. I don't watch television, so any references to Teen Titans are lost on me. I also do not know much of the world involved, because due to circumstances I could not control I was unable to join in on the original game.

Zwei, I agree to an extent. This is a game for schemers. However, so long as you are capable of scheming your character can have whatever hobbies he or she wants. If that's burning things, fine with me. I just require, as per usual, good roll playing, which, going over whose joining, ought not be that big of a problem so far.

Edit: I refuse to answer character specific questions at this time. I don't have the necessary information nor have arived at certain decisions about character creation. This is based on comic book super-villany, though, so keep such things in mind when coming up with a character concept.

I know, but I've seen some bad things from Evil campaigns and the like. Very bad things. What I was referring to was a character who was evil because he liked to burn things. That was his entire reason for being evil. No world domination or revenge schemes, just... he burned things. It was so horribly two dimensional, and everything else he did was in a similar, oh-god-its-like-a-trainwreck vein.

but you see the beauty of this campaign is that if such a character exists he will ruin the plans for the more subtle villains, who ought anticipate such a thing before the plan takes place and deal with him accordingly.

Lumaes, I went over what you've been doing RP-wise. From the tidbit of what I've seen, you aren't bad, so ignore my previous concerns. Its just that for every good new Roll Player we get, we usually get three to four bad ones.

No, an extra female slot would allow for another aspect of it to work. In the original version of this game, everyone would choose both a crush and an enemy at the begining of the game, both of which he/she might want to keep secret depending on how they played their character. Having only one female character makes it a little on the obvious side. But its not necessary. There may in fact be a dress code, although I haven't heard of/decided on such things. If there is, I can guarentee you it would be EVIL.

Good to have you SuperSaiyan. But I think that I'm closing pre-registration as of right now. I will make exceptions on a case by case basis, if I feel that a certain forumite has demonstrated themselves to be truely evil enough to be invaluble in this RP.

Sorry, no character template yet. Feel free to post name, age (senior year of high school so unless your character is either accelerated or held back, it will be around 17 or 18) and gender, but You'll just have to repost later on the official sign up once I can give you enough info about the world itself that this works in so that you can create a bio and everything else.

Exchange student is possible, but your... "maid"... no. Sorry, yes I know I'm no fun, but even in an evil RP, I insist on some monacre of decency on my part and couldn't bring myself to allow it. Again, if in character you can convince someone to be your ..."maid" go right ahead. I could care less what the individual players do, but I have to regulate character creation.

Athra, as I've said several times, I honestly do not know. Super-powers more likely than not, but to what extent, I couldn't say.

But seriously, SS, that may work, but I haven't looked at about how powerful I want you guys to be. Burly henchmen may or may not be available for hire, but your character would not have pre-possessed them. Monologues are fine.

Ecrut: Robots can work if you can aquire them. I need to look at what you guys are supposed to possess at the begining of the game, but I believe its relatively minimal, which is what makes this so interesting.

Update on my online time: I'm not sure, but I may be online about once every second day as of next week. I say "may" because arrangements haven't been set yet, and it's going to be a little uncertain for a while. Would this be acceptable? If not, I'll see what I can do, but I doubt that I'll be able to get much better than that...

right now, I honestly don't know. It may be a while before I can run this. I started this thread just to make sure there was interest for it. How long will this stent last?

No idea, I'm afraid. It could be a week or two, it could be a month or two. It's basically until we get a 'net-connected machine at my house, and the arrival date on that depends on how soon we can get hold of a halfway cheap machine, although we do have a few leads.

If it takes more than a few weeks, though, I'll probably settle down into a pattern with the resources that I have, although that would mean accessing the 'net less often (probably about every second day, perhaps on both Saturdays and Sundays)

We'll have to play it by ear, I suppose, although if it's going to be a while before you run it my current chaos may well have settled down. I sincerely hope so.

Edit: I believe I have found an actual dice system to work with this game. Its relatively simplistic from your point of view, leaving me with most of the work. I can give an overview if you guys want, but I'm leaving it to a vote to see whether or not we use it.

They really do ruin comedy or goof-off moments.

(I'm assuming this is like the game 'Evil Genius' in that regard)

well, in its defense, its a dice system specifically designed for comedic RPs, but vote counted anyway.

Also in defense of the concept of dice based comedy RPG's, they allow for things to go awry and prevent bias on the part of the GM. Really, the way that the system works, you the player would not even notice the use of dice. the only impact it would have would be that you would be creating some basic statistics at the begining of the game.

The system is like an even more simplistic version of BESM.

yeah. The guy I stole this from is an aquaintence of mine, but not a close friend, so I currently have no way of contacting him. so far, I'm getting the "its okay to use dice" thing. I may go against it myself, I just want to make sure that its okay with people if I do. Really, it would just be to add an element of randomness into the mix, but we might try a one shot with the dice system at one point just to see how it goes. Maybe a street fight between you guys and Hero High's class, but we'll see. I still need to adapt the system to the rules, and before I do that, I need to know what this guy was doing about powers and before that, I need to get the damn PDF file with all of the information on it. *sigh* But never fear, mid Jan sounds like it just might work.

I'm down with the dice idea, adds an element of accountability, plus it allows the dm to pretty much just do whatever he wants, as none of us will be able to see Lycanthropes dice anyways, which just basically means all he has to do is say he's rolling dice and everyone will feel better when they are trounced by Maximillion Heroicus an dhis band of justice midgets, or whatever nemesis characters he comes up with.

There's always the possibility of the big strong dumb guy who goes around foiling all our grand plans by blundering into them by sheer dumb luck and accidently activating the self destruct button. We could always poke fun at some of the old hero cliches.

I'm a bit against the idea of using dice but more becuase I think it might complicate things and slow it down.
