Hey there fellow FF lovers. I'm down with Nobuo's music and am going to the concert in Chicago. Is anyone else going? R U getting dressed up or going casual. Let us (specifically me) know what going on

What is this? A concert? And I didn't know about it?

Still...if it's in Chicago then there is 0% possiblility that I'll attend. *sigh*

Hope springs eternal; maybe the concert will be recorded so we can buy CD's of it.

When is this concert to take place? I admit I would be interested in going if I can get enough advance notice and the tickets are not hyper-expensive. I'd rather see a Yoko Kanno concert though.

I'd like to go, but Chicago's just too far. I already missed his concert at the L.A. Philharmonic, but I do plan on going to one of his concerts one day.

Well, with my luck, the closest it will ever get to me is either Denver or Vegas. Both are too far for me to travel, especially in my piece of junk.

However, if, by some sort of divine intervention, it ends up in Salt Lake, I'm so there.

you people almomst make me sick. how is that you don't know about the supposed small us tour thats going on. it's at the Rosemont Horizon just a little outside of the city. tickets start at about $35 and go up to $125. but those most expenisive ones are sold out, but you at least get to me nobuo himself.

please tell somebody else is going to be at this concert

also if some cds are available and people want me to pick some up, let me know

I'm at college in Minnesota, so maybe I can hold a knife to someone's throat to get me there.

Yeah, as mentioned, it's part of a Series, but they haven't actually announced any additional dates or cities. I hope by series, they don't mean 'Let's do once concert a year that isn't anywhere close to New England'. I'm gunning for something along the lines of 'Let's do more than one concert this year, in fact, let's do one in Boston!'. Probably wasted energy, but I can always hope.

I don't plan to go, but I would like pictures of anybody who goes there wearing a costume.
So I can laugh at them just as if I were there.

And I can barely imagine the quantity of 12 year olds that will drag their parents to this "concert". Priceless.

Man, how come awesomeness like this never takes place near me. All the way in Chicago. Why!!??

Well everyone, if you can't go to the one in Chicago, then the next is in San Franny.

That's right back out to the West Coast. It'll be Monday, March 7. I still want to know who's going to any of these. Am I the only hardcore fan here????

Cloud Strife
01-21-2005, 01:22 PM
You are most definitely not the only, as you put it, 'hardcore' fan in here. However:

1) Chicago is way to far from Washington.

2) March 7 happens to fall on finals week for me. No way I'm going to get out of that for a concert, as much as I'd like to go.

I'm just hoping one of those concerts happens in the Southeast. Say, in Atlanta. I'd run over broken glass to see it if it was here.

Failing that, I'd at least like a CD. I enjoy my "20020220" CD.

Someone please tell me that, after the US tour, they will be performing in Europe too.

I'd love to attend, but seeing as the Netherlands and the US are seperated by this little puddle of water called the Atlantic Ocean, I won't be going.

Why are we Europeans always neglected in these type of things.

I'll be crying in the corner now...

You know what really sucks, I'm a member of the IGDA (International Game Developers Association) and they had a raffle, and I won tickets to both the Game Developers Conference 2k5, and to the concert on opening night in San Fran. AND I CAN'T GO!!! stupid west coast, just had to be soooooo far away from the east coast

Does anyone know what group will be performing the concert?

I was BEYOND pissed off that I couldn't see the LA Phil performance and I swear I will MURDER someone if it is being performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra... (as in I will murder to get there... I realized just now that it sounded like I thought CSO was a bad group... shoot me if I ever think that...)

That would be just cruel... why do I live so far away! *cries* :(

Good God... anyone that can go to this concert should go (obviously if you don't want to go but have the chance you will probably have a handfull of people trying to tar and feather you at this point)

The Chicagoland Pops is a REALLY awesome group... It makes me sad inside knowing that I will probably never even get my hands on a recording 'cause I'm poor :fighter: I needs a job for mo' money -_-

Kicaone ROCKS. That's what I've been looking for. Finally a truly dedicated fan more that willing to do what is needed to get a rare glimpse of the Final Fantasy experience. I'm bringing someone else with me and am meeting a friend in Chicago. The concert is like 2 weeks away. I don't want to have to wait :( . The anticipation is like killing me. Anyways, I'm hoping to see more people are going to be able to go. :D

My boyfriend, our good friend and I are going, and no one really answerd that question on what to wear... and I am kindof at a loss here. Because I don't want to wear jeans and see every other girl in the theatre wearing a skirt, I would feel pretty darn stupid. :(

chronotriggergod
02-05-2005, 01:46 PM
Oh yeah, as to what to wear??? My friends and I getting decked out in some nice suits. We'll be going like we were going to any other nice, kick-ass orchestral concert. Anybody else hoping that they'll be selling some cds or other paraphranelia (sp???)?

EvilKujujuwa
02-05-2005, 04:08 PM
I know that I am going to be looking for some CDs, my best friend has to work that day, I told her to call in sick but she can't. So she gave me some money to buy her something.

How many other people do you think are going to be wearing suits? Do you think that there will be girls there in like super pretty dresses and stuff, with fans and those long ciggarette holders??? :( Cuz I don't do dresses!!! :(

chronotriggergod
02-07-2005, 06:12 PM
I'll admit thatI don't have a clue about female fashions. But certainly that's got to be something thats "nice" but not overly formal in your wardrobe Kujujuwa. If you're at all like any other female I know, finding something like that shouldn't be a prob. Not trying to offend anyone here ;). Although I'll give anybody major props if they show up in an 8-bit shirt!!!!!!!1

Kujujuwa, where are your seats??? Mine are in the upper balcony in the middle towards the front. I think they are good seats. Gonna be on the road in less than 24 hours.

Everybody, make sure to enjoy yourselves and bring plenty of money for goddies!!!

EvilKujujuwa
02-19-2005, 06:53 PM
I don't know if you are going to read this before you leave... sorry. I'm on the floor, in the doubble letter section under the balcony.

*Edit* 02-19-2005 12:15
Just got back from the show and it was SO TOTALLY AWESOME!!! No really. Nobuo is the king of music, and my new idol. He was so awesome, and funny and just the best man in the world. I wish I would have spent the extra money to go to the meet and greet!! I want to learn Japanese and talk to him, it would be so awesome. I don't think that there was ever an orcastral consert with that excited of an audiance. There was screaming and cheering and arms thrown in the air. SO AWESOME!!!! :D :)

chronotriggergod
02-23-2005, 04:15 PM
Oh yeah, was that not a super bad ass concert. I was on the balcony, the middle right side, fifth row back. I so wish I could have gone to actually try to talk to him and shake his hand. All those other people were soooo lucky. Good God, I hope to see him with his band in the US. I'd also very much like to see Yatsunori Mitsuda come to America and play some of his music. I think I like him a little better than Umetsu-san.

Also, I was SOOOOOO HAPPPPPYYYYYY to see them finish of with One Winged Angel from the end of FF VII. That is my favorite track of all. And my friend Chris didn't think there would be an encore!! I proved him wrong. Ha!!!

Anyways, if anyone else saw it, please let me know what you think. And if anyone saw anything in the paper, let me know about it too. I know there was a reporter interviewing some people right behind me, but i don't know who he worked for.

There antoher one in CA so i'm gonna try to go but tell me were there CD's beacuse it said no recording devices. But they might sell CD's if I can't go I'll see if I can get someone to get me one of those.

PS: Why no 8-bit shirts? Copyrights material and stuff? Explain.

chronotriggergod
02-25-2005, 02:57 PM
Alas, there were no cds. I'm a little surprised. My friends and I couldn't think of a very good reason why they didn't have any to sell. I think that would help promote the whole thing, even if they weren't about the concert itself. What I mean is they should have at least have individual game soundtracks. Who knows????

RedScar
02-25-2005, 06:28 PM
Well that settles it. I guess I'll have to go. But I don't think I'll be wear a suit. Mabye an 8-bit shirt... hmmm... should I go with Fighter or Black Mage?

EvilKujujuwa
02-25-2005, 08:02 PM
Black Mage all the way man!!! Hey ChronoTrigger did you see the guy and girl dressed up as the SeeD students? And the girl in the Mog hat? It was so cute!!

RedScar
02-25-2005, 09:32 PM
Thanks I'ts good to know I have people to tell me what to do so I don't have to think. (I would ended up wearing that one anyway.) Can anyone else make it?

chronotriggergod
02-26-2005, 04:21 PM
I was wondering if there was going to be anybody cosplaying at the concert. I'm sure I would have had I gotten there sooner. I wish I could have seen the person with a mog hat. I would have laughed my ass off if I saw that, I mean that in a good way. RedScar, I hand you major props for going in an 8-bit shirt, double for the Black Mage. But I will say that I was really surprised by how many cute women were there. I need to get a "geeky" girlfriend. Can anybody help me out? lol

RedScar
02-26-2005, 05:15 PM
God that'ed be nice. Think all they have to do if they want a geeky guy is go to a card shop, or some thing that has maginzenes, or gameing stuff. It's been said that guys who play games do so because they can't get girls. I don't know about this but it sorta makes a bit of sense. I don't know. Is there somewhere to find geeky girls? If there is tell me.

Anyways this might a be a chance, then again I should play every single FF game and learn everything by the concert. At least then I know more than I do now. You sir are giveing me good ideas. Thank you.

chronotriggergod
02-28-2005, 05:25 PM
Can guys who get girls still play video games a lot?? I do know that women take up a lot of time, so I can see the logic in these statements. I wish that I had gotten to the concert a little sooner so that I could have talked some game up with some of the hotties. Oh well, maybe if there is another one close to me, I'll go and give it another try. I'd love to go to a store that specialized in anime/manga and try to meet someone there.

Anyways, the concert rocked and I'm sure that the rest will too!!!!!!!

RedScar
02-28-2005, 06:50 PM
Well if they play games you have something in common. But Girls and Games both take up money. So that's a same problem. Unless your rich, but I doubt most people are. Now here's the problem. Most girls that play games don't usally make that statment most the time. I mean if they do they say it during a converstion that two guys usally started about what game is better, or should I buy this, ect. Besides most gamers stay at home a lot. So unless you think you can get yourslef over to her house (as in she'll let you) or get her to come to yours then you have a problem. Then again if you can you don't really have to spend much because then you already have entainment and you don't have to spend a lot on food. But you need to be a bit of a friend first. After all saying "Hey you want to come to my house and play video games?" I don't know, If you say it right out, Well that's werid. And If you get into a realation ship then by then she knows and it's okay. But then again I've never had a date in my life so I shouldn't really be giving advice.

Do I like to hear myslef talk? Mabye.

chronotriggergod
03-02-2005, 04:53 PM
Ha hahahahaaa. I've don't date a lot, but I think I'd be more willing if I can find a geeky girlfiend. The guy who I went to the concert with know a few "closet geeks" who are girls. So now I have to wonder if there are more of them out there who just don't admit to it easily. I went to an anime convention and there were all sorts of HOT gals there, so I know that they do exist. My ex didn't mind me being an avid gamer, she just didn't like me getting to involved in a game while talking to her on the phone. NOTE: DO NOT BY ANY MEANS IGNORE A WOMEN WHILE PLAYING A GAME, EVEN ONE AS BAD ASS AS CHRONO TRIGGER

RedScar
03-02-2005, 08:12 PM
O no, never ignore women. They remeber every thing they ever tell you and expect you to remeber it. When ever I playing a game unless they can stop me from playing I won't hear a thing they say. And I play with very low sound(like 6 out of 64) so thats pretty into it. But I know what you mean. Girls don't like to admit they like games most the time. I don't know, I think it because most gamers are kinda assumed to be guys. But were are getting way off of topic. I don't mind that were getting off topic it's just, well I don't want to get in troble with the mods. So ya concert. Well at least I said some thing. If you want we can start this up on another thread. You want to do it?

chronotriggergod
03-04-2005, 12:56 PM
By all means. lets go with a new thread. Yes the concert was awesome and talking about girls and gaming is fun. I'm sure they will be at the other concerts too!
Everyone else that goes to the other concerts, please post something to let everyone else know what you thought.

Yunni
03-04-2005, 01:05 PM
You will be suprised how many girls out there that are open about their game playing... even table top rpg's and the like. Not as many as the usual girls though, which is a sad shame.

Being a gamer geek girly myself... I can actually admit that I probably play a hek of a lot of games and it takes up a lot of my time and that's hard to juggle since I have a boyfriend too. I'm also at university so you can see how much I have to juggle around ^^;

To be honest - don't go look for 'certain types'. If you meet someone you like, someone you have a lot in common with, then go for it! If she likes you, you like her, yadda yadda yadda - then don't let anything stop you :D

Did anyone go to the concert in San Franny earlier this month???? Any thoughts on it??
Does anyone want to go to the More Friends concert???

I would but I'm saving up for going to Antartica
