Has anyone here every played, or at least heard of the Ganbare Goemon / Mystical Ninja series?

It combines action-side scrolling, 3D platforming and RPG elements. Think of a Castlevania and Zelda combo, set in Feudal Japan.

I know that, in the states, one game was released for the SNES, and then two for the N64: Mystical Ninja ~ Starring Goemon and Goemon's Great Adventure; both great games, if only a bit short.

My question is, is Konami EVER going to release the Mystical Ninja game for PS2? I know it's indefinitely postponed, so I'd like to know if anyone has heard any further news on it?

RPGamer has little information on it, you can check it out here: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/other/ps2/goemon/goemon.html

I think you should get an N64 simply for Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon! It was an Awesome game, it was big, funny (in a crazy Japanese humour badly translated kind of way) and it was really fun to play. Some of the music from that game is still stuck in my head seven years since I last played it. And the giant robot battles were brilliant. Thats all I can think of right now. F*** waiting for it to come out on PS2, get it now second hand before its too late!

Legend of the Mystical Ninja (Ganbare Goemon 2) for the SNES will always be one of my favorite co-op games ever.
