I got a PS4 for my birthday, as well as some PS4 games (Until Dawn, MGS: GZ and MGSV, and Witcher 3 for PS4), and a couple Vita games (Steins;gate and Danganronpa Another Episode.)
The trophy battle against Speroni persists into eternity.

I also got a couple pillows, a rug for our back door entrance, an iron and ironing board, new pair of jeans, and lots of Starbucks gift cards.

Yaaay.



(I actually celebrated yesterday by playing MGS, albeit Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes, not V just yet)
(Peace Walker was not so great, actually 'saved' from being 'terrible' to merely being 'mediocre' by a great endgame twist with Paz.)
(Ground Zeroes on the other hand has me very excited for V.)

I was wondering how long the chain of Mauve posts was going to last. Happy to see I wasn't missed, last year there was a month of forum downtime and I was so disappointed that I'd miss the Mauve HBD.

I used this years birthday funds for MGSV. No regrets. I've sunk a ton of time into it just screwing around and I'm barely over 30% completion. But don't expect anything like the story in previous Metal Gears. It's a completely different style. Just enjoy some absolutely fantastic gameplay, Snake.

Highlights from my birthday yesterday:

1: Went to a German restaurant, met a couple acquaintances, drank great beer.
2: Cold Steel II was released; at least XSeed loves me.

3: Okay, this is the one I really want to rant about: A girl who was chatting with me for like, close to a week on OKCupid randomly blocked me after sending me another nice message that gave no indication of any reasoning why I'd be blocked. It's like she wrote me a completely normal correspondence responding to the questions I asked and asking new questions of her own, thought on it for a couple hours, and said "Fuck this guy." No explanation, not even a "Hey sorry but I [got a boyfriend] [decided you really aren't my type after all] [whatever.]" The most rational explanation I can even concoct for this strange misery is that she had some ironclad rule where she would date a 31 year old but not a 32 year old, my birthday rolled around, and suddenly I crossed the line for her. That's the most rational explanation available. Fucking bizarre.

Online dating is the bizarre world where nothing makes any sense whatsoever, and I'm really finding that I just don't have the mental fortitude for it, but when it's the only successful way someone with my personality type has to even meet women, I'm kind of straight up fucked.

All in all, the fact that this was actually one of my better birthday experiences really speaks to how lousy my birthdays usually are.

Addendum: My first thought was to make something with the "Iron Yet Caring First" poster to keep up with the 8Bit Theme but couldn't google it - There's an entire line of clothes based on Care Bears or something (https://www.google.com.br/search?q=iron+yet+caring+fist&biw=1920&bih=921&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjcpMCdg4zSAhVLjZAKHf-7DkYQ_AUIBigB) that ruins the search.

The second option was a Dear Leader/Supreme Overlord pastiche but that might've come as mean and somewhat uncaring.

The third option was a "Happy Birthday Mom" card but that would've been too subtle someone might mistake it for my actual mom's birthday.

Which led me to the fourth and final option, and the one that truly represents the role of our dear admnistrator.
