I was just wondering what everyone else's favorite Japanese Music Bands were.

My favorites are (By catagory):

J-Rock: Do As Infinity
J-Pop: Namie Amuro
Techno: Ayumi Hamasaki
Mixed: BoA (Beat of Angel)

Everyone seems to have missed The Pillows thus far, and be ashamed for that.

The Pillows, Kemuri...

You know, I used to know a good amount of Japanese Ska bands. They were all pretty awesome, but I can't remember their names now. Alot of them were on the Nihon Ska Dansu complilation from Moon Ska records. I need to get that cd back.

I dont really have a taste for Japanese music, with the exception of The Pillows. The local college radio station, used to have a J-pop and J-rock segment. I'll see if they still play it.

But in a related subject, I might pick up a Led Zeppelin T-shirt of a concert they did in Japan.

while niether J-pop or -rock, Mad Capsule Markets is a pretty interesting band. they're sort of industrial, i dono, its hard to explain, just like 90% of the things that come from japan.

I don't know much in the way of Japanese music, but the only two that spring to mind I have anything from are Sigh (http://listen.to/sigh) and Zombie Ritual (http://zombieritual.com/) .

Quality material.

I don't listen, so I honestly don't know. If it has a good beat, though, I'll listen to it.
