Oh, also, if you make it long enough to see Chad's "hey I am going to rape your shit now, sorry about that" upgrade, you'll probably like it. It's in the earlier stages of the Heuco Mundo portion.
I did see. Thanks! I didn't really consider it a counter-review though...more of an alternative perspective? I am working on a Brutal Legend review too, which I imagine may have many differing opinions.
I'm only in late April, man.
...But I'm loving this. The little voice snippets add so much to the social link sequences and, despite direct control, I'm actually finding the battles more challenging than P3's.
I'm going basketball - drama route (Yumi is hot, and the other girl looks so young, she disturbs me) for social links and I'm deliberately avoiding strategy guides, so we'll see how well I do and what ending I get.
So, I'm debating...Persona 4 next, or The Answer?
On the one hand, I really want to see how Persona 3's story ends.
On the other hand, I prefer the social links aspect over the dungeon-crawling in the Persona series, and The Answer seems 100% dedicated to the latter.
Your thoughts?
I think I would have enjoyed Nyx Avatar more if I hadn't leveled all my characters up to 99 beforehand, thus rendering the final boss laughably easy. (Seriously he changed arcanas every other time I hit him.)
I think what really sets this game apart is the voice acting. Some superb VAs really made the emotional resonance of the ending that much more engrossing and tragic. Aigis and Junpei's VAs were particularly stellar.
