How Do I Turn It Off?
Now, I like my browsers uncluttered. An address bar, a few buttons - probably a few tabs open. However, when I opened Firefox today, I was greeted with one of these:
So I guess one of the family upgraded Norton, and added something called "Identity Protection." What I don't know is why I can't get rid of it. There's not really anything in the options, and every time I log in.. well, anywhere, it pops up with "We can automatically enter this info the next time you visit this webpage!" How do I turn it off? Last edited by Seil; 09-12-2008 at 10:41 PM. |

I am using McAfee, so I have no firsthand usage experience here.
You should be able to disable / hide the bar while still having the functionality.
It seems an alternative is to muck around with the .dll file Norton puts in Firefox for this bar. This probably will completely remove the functionality as well as the bar. Was that the right bar/thing?

One would imagine there's an option to hide it under View>Toolbars with FF. If not, poke around in Norton and your browser stuff in likely places. Sometimes, it's less of knowing where it is and more knowing where to look these days. Especially in Vista.
