Help related to the Venture Brothers...
Does anyone here watch the Venture Brothers and play DnD? Two friends and I are going to be in a campaign soon and we are trying to form the Order of the Triad. I have been slated to play the Alchemist, but I need help coming up with a decent spell list based off of the abilities you see him use in the show. Barring that I was going to try to make Dr. Henry Killinger, but same sort of problem.
What I need some help with is: A. ideas for classes B. Spell lists anything goes really for either one, but spells out of the PHB or the Spell Compendium would be easiest to use as I have physical copies of those. Any help at all would be appreciated. kthnx bai! |

well, yes, but getting it to be able to function like it does in the show, Such as disintegrating union bosses in a flash of blinding light without somehow getting my hands on a chunk of the ol' Ark of the Covenant, is where I am having trouble.

Hell, I don't know if that's even remotely possible (don't play DnD), but it should work, if only because that would be funny. |

Not bad.

Jefferson had better be a ranger.

well of COURSE he will be a ranger. He's the easy one. Orpheus isn't too much harder as you see him using a bunch of different types of spells over the course of the show. The Alchemist though, they say he is magic, he does a couple things, but really all you see is sarcasm and flim-flammery. What is a good class to focus on Profession: Flim-Flammery?

Easiest way to go, I'd imagine, for the alchemist, would be Wizard (he is depicted more as the "researcher-type") with a specialization of Transmutation, though with a wide array of spells from other schools as well (has he actually done any transmutation or alchemy on-screen? I don't recall any). He is difficult to pin down, and I'm not sure what spells would be fitting.
As for the magic murder bag: Perhaps a Deck of Many things variant (change out the effects & form with more appropriate ones)? Instead of drawing a card, have the random effect chosen by opening the bag and perhaps give Dr. Killinger the unique capacity to control the outcome.
