Coding advice
Ok no idea how good people are at actual coding here but figured I'd ask. I'm playing with a circuit board to turn valves on and off in sequence at certain times. Back when I was in engineering we made stuff like that and it was easy. However the program I used is obsolete, cant find it anymore (it was a version of visual basic I believe). I have found lots of different software writing programs, and tutorials, but none that match each other. I tried doing a google search for the program I have but the tutorials that show up tell me to select things that just aren't there.
I'm at a complete lose, I've been trying things for weeks and am desperate at this point. Hell if you know someone that can just make the program I'll even pay for it. I just want this thing done.

Can you tell me a little more about your target hardware? For small projects like this I know Arduino microcontrollers are popular, and assembly and C are well-suited to stuff like that. Java is also an option that wouldn't need you specifically to know as much about your hardware, but you'd need to find a JVM for your hardware.
