New Xbox Live Experience
What do you guys think of the new Xbox update? I hate all change so I am going to give it awhile before I make up my mind. The marketplace seems less intuitive than it was before. I could care less about Avatars but I am glad my themes are still somewhat there.

The new patch is the "Wii" patch. I've been holding the anger at this thing inside since I first had to use the damn thing. Your avatars are ugly and while customizable, they are boring. it's supposed to be idiot proof but it's glitchy as hell, and will occasionally lock in 'infinite refresh' on some pages, so you can't do anything.
It's not the patch it was supposed to be, because they didn't bother testing it out fully. They just said "Use this from now on," and hurled it into the market with a note about "Suggestions being welcome." Quite unhappy NikNik. |

Ehh, I don't know yet. I don't mind the avatars that much, but I like the party options. The problem is that the organization seems to have taken a step back, but maybe I'm fearing change too. Give a few days and I'll say again. But no matter what, I'm stuck with it so it don't matter.

Updating and applying now. Have my thoughts eventually.

It's not the train-wreck I feared it would be. The blade-system was a little more user friendly, I think, but I could still find everything I needed to.

At the very least it fixes that chainsaw of a disc drive.

With the whole installation thing?
How much room does that take? I haven't been paying too much attention to this so yeah... This better not be one of those things that makes me want to go get a bigger hard drive.

What? I can't believe Microsoft would ever release a crappy half-finished product on consumers and expect them to be grateful, while forcing them to be beta-testers.

I haven't noticed any glitches so far, and I played the 360 for most of the night yesterday. I quite like the change.
Yeah it's new, but that just means we have to adapt a little bit. Obviously the old system seems more intuitive, it's what we've been using for months/years. The avatar thing is cool, and I can't help but like the "Party" function. It made coordinating gaming with some friends much easier last night than ever before. |
