NP, I have some reasonable complaints about some people
So I'm just going to throw this out there, it actually really bugs me when someone steps in to defend my/other people's kids like they need protecting.
Like on the one hand yeah it's fine if we're talking "This adult male is hitting on a 13 year old" Yeah step in and knock some sense into everyone who needs it situation fitting. But sitting in an open conversation with an ex-girlfriend and her sister and getting some laughs, and having some high-minded "Othermom" come in and start chewing me out for being a creeper, calling me a pedophile and ripping into me from what she read on my facebook profile? Yeah I hate that kind of mom. [Yeah I let it get ridiculously personal right there but that's what's sparked it.] It's the same feeling I get from mom's who don't let their kids watch Power Rangers because "it's violent," or who don't let their kids play with water pistols because it "teaches them that shooting people is okay". I don't have a super long spiel prepared here but Jesus that just drives me up the wall. ******** Also anyone who says "Now you're doing a 'MAN'S' DAY WORK!" Can just buy a one way ticket straight to hell in my books. Nothing about sand/airblasting the paint/rust off a vehicle is inherently more manly then sitting at a fucking desk. In fact since my girlfriend/fiance can sand/airblast and she can't do my deskjob I'm gonna have to say that shit's decidedly less manly based on evidence presented to me right there. Let's just make this an open thread of "Holy shit, this really bites my ass". Feel free to call me out on any of this if you feel I'm wrong even a little bit because hell I don't get called out enough. Edit: related to Facebook: Thanks to SuperMom bitching out Ex's Sister and appearantly flagging me on facebook as a pedophile, I'm now blocked from viewing profiles under the age of 18. O_o and Ex's sister messaged me saying she's been forced to 'unfriend' me.

Don't tell me you did one of those "What Kind of Pedophile ARE YOU?" surveys...

You know all that anger could really go against anyone who walks in and sees just a portion of a conversation and decides they must instantly crusade against it.
Like walking up to [Insert any non-white poster here] making a joke about a bomb or something and deciding it would be the perfect time to try out his new cell phone to call the cops or plaster fliers around his neighborhood. Shit like that just drives me nuts. |

Signing up for classes really bites my ass. Nothing I want to take is ever open, except for things I can't take because lol wrong program. That's not even mentioning the classes that I know are offered and have talked to people who've taken them, but which are mysteriously absent from the class roster every semester (here's to you, Music Appreciation). And, despite the previous parenthetical statement, I'm not bitching about there being no open classes because I only want to take easy classes in the afternoon. I've taken every English and History class I'm allowed to take. There just isn't anything left that isn't completely irrelevant (to my degree) and uninteresting, like Economics or Pre-Dentistry, and I'm left every semester sweating it out until the Great Shuffling happens at the beginning of the semester and I can slip into a class while everyone's changing their schedules around.
But then, because it's such a pain in the ass to sign up for classes, I always procrastinate on doing it, making it even more of a pain in the ass. gg me.

Ugh, classes. I had my schedule set up perfectly - all the classes I wanted, all in the morning, nice groups without any 1/2 hour holes - but then, after I couldn't make any more changes because my registration window closed, the school decided it was going to move one of the classes I signed up for. Into a time I had signed up to take another class. Fuck. I emailed them three weeks or so ago about it, they said they'd fix it somehow, and yet its still sitting there the same as it was.
I'd say I'm going to have to wait until the last minute to swap it out for whatever section I can get, but now there's only one section I could get into that wouldn't involve moving around several of my other classes. I'm not hopeful. |

Exams on molecular genetics. Or better yet, classes that consist of semi-interesting material but bad teaching and sucky design.
How about if in tomorrows exam, I just answer every question with "Phosphorylation is the key." or something similar. I am so fed up with ORC's, TATA-boxes, Polymerases and everything else. "The CDK7 part of the TFIIH phosphorylates the CDT part of the RNA POL I -complex." Damnit, phosphorylate me to death!

This. I have a friend whose parents are this but times ten TRILLION. She's not allowed to watch any movies that aren't rated G. She's not allowed to read comics. She has NEVER HEARD OF DR. SEUSS. Her parents looked into a friend of mine's tax records before she was allowed to go to his house, and then when he complained that it was an invasion of privacy she was almost disallowed from speaking with anyone in our entire circle of friends ever again.

Oh man I love that. I hope when she gets to high school, same thing happens as what happened to a girl here- she got convinced by a classmate that sex was a sport and got reeeeeeeeeally good at it that day. |

Oh, no, they want her to move out, apparently they actually genuinely dislike her and have told her so.
