Font Editor
Hey, does anyone know of a good program for editing fonts? I've found a public domain font that I want to modify slightly (I don't like the numerals), but I need to know how.

Wait, did you just answer your own OP? I was just gonna suggest finding a way to open the font in GIMP or Photoshop to edit it since I know jack about font-specific stuff.

Yep! Incidentally, I also discovered there's a long and poorly documented process to get Inkscape (An open source vector editor) to work as a font editor (It can export to svg fonts which almost nothing (Inkscape included!) uses, which you then have to convert to truetype or opentype fonts), but it seems really inconvenient and a huge hassle.
If I were doing a lot more work on fonts, I might actually use the Inkscape method, just because the tools available in Typelight aren't stellar, and it can't import vectors from other programs, but for a few tweaks on numbers, and bringing down the leading, it was fine.
