Top 5 for 2010?
So I was just wondering what the esteemed peoples of the NPF were looking forward to playing this year, you know, now that we're "in the future" and all.
This is my top 5; 1) Alien Vs Predator; Never had the chance to play AvP before, but I seriously cannot wait for this. It looks incredible, it has the feel of the universes down exactly, even the sounds of the aliens and gunfire of the pulse rifles is spot on. Everything about this oozes quality, and the online is going to be something else. 2) God of War 3; Been waiting for this for a long time and can't wait to get back into hacking up those ancient greek gods as The Angriest Man in Gaming once again. This is surely going to be a stunning conclusion to one of my favourite game series. 3) Final Fantasy XIII; The wait for this has been even longer than GoW3, but the more I see, the more I want. It's been a long time since I've had a good long RPG to get into as well, so I've no doubt this will deliver. 4) Bioshock 2; The original was one of the only games that I ever changed my mind about. I was incredibly dubious at first, but after playing the first few minutes I was hooked. The sequel looks 10 times better. This can ONLY be good. 5) MAG; After playing the recent open beta I've really started to see how this can work. 256 Player battles, it sounded impossible, but impossible was last week. Now I've never been much (read; at all) of a CoD fan, but this looks like something a bit different, and potentially better. So yeah, that's my current top 5, assuming The Last Guardian hasn't had an official release day announcement yet, in which case scrap them all. So what's everyone else looking foward to and why?

Kinda hard for me to get excited for stuff lately.
Ummm.... This is a hard one....
1. Sin and Punishment 2 - Played the Japanese version, and it was my favorite game of 2009. The US version will probably be one of the few games I actually buy this year. 2. No More Heroes 2 - NMH is still one of the best games on the Wii, and this one will hopefully fix the problems with the first one while adding cool new content and story. Plus it's a Suda game, so it should be pretty great. 3. Megaman 10 - Megaman 9 was my GOTY of 2008. Megaman 10 has a lot to live up to, but I think it can do it. 4. Super Mario Galaxy 2 - The first was the best 3D Mario. The second looks to add some difficulty and Yoshi. Color me excited. 5. Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver - Thanks for reminding me, Azis! I loved the originals, so remakes of them with better music, graphics, and more Pokemans is gonna be great. Plus it comes with that walker thing so I can exercise my Pikachu to level 99.

Let's see...might have to pull up release list for a refresher, but:
1) Mass Effect 2 - Why the hell do I need a reason? It's Bioware. Mass Effect was for me, outside of novels, the best sci-fi universe and overall game I've ever played. A lot of people fear sequels, but I trust Bioware. They know what they're doing. 2) Red Dead Redemption - I love western-themed games, and Red Dead Revolver was decent. Rockstar has more of its act together and if they're using a lot of the systems in place that I enjoyed from GTA, but western, I'm super excited. 3) Starcraft II - I loved Starcraft as a kid but its just too fucking horrendously ugly on my 24" screen to try anymore. SCII will probably be more of the Blizzard mixture of video game and crystal meth, but with graphics I can swallow. 4) Dragon Age: Awakening - You just can't get me enough Bioware. 5) Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver - I'll write essays on how much I think the pokemon franchise is a stagnant piece of desiccated feces. And it is. And I buy it anyway. |

2 of these may not even release this year, but they're still here:
1) Golden Sun DS - Hopefully. I've waited 7 years, I suppose one more won't kill me. 2) HeartGold/SoulSilver - Remakes of my favorite PKMN Generation. 3) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - First was my favorite 3D Mario game. 4) Rock Band: Green Day 5) 3rd Birthday - No definite date, but I can hope. |

1) Persona 5.
2) Persona 5. 3) Persona 5. 4) Persona 5. 5) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker...oh, who the hell am I kidding. Persona 5. Also: NonCon, I'm very disappointed in your list. EDIT: "But Solid Snake, Persona 5 doesn't come out in 2010!" I don't give a crap just give me my goddamn Persona 5.

The Ever-Changing
|
1.) Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Admittedly, I feel that the New SMB Wii has revitalized a stagnant Mario, and will help this. Plus Galaxy was pretty cool.
2.) Starcraft II - How long have people been waiting for this game? Too long. 3.) Bioshock 2 - The first game was one of the few I could actually get into. The second promises to be more awesome. 4.) Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver - Let's face facts; the Gold/Silver/Crystal versions were a peak in the Pokemon timeline. The only thing that could make it more awesome is if they included throwbacks to not only Kanto this time, but Hoenn and Sinnoh. 5.) Mega Man 10 - I was the 7th person in North America to beat 9. To get a person such as myself (27 years old, disposable income) THAT excited about a game is to make a great game. The Easy Mode will increase the userbase for those |

1)Etrian Odyssey 3 - *Mouthfoam*
2) 4 Warriors of Light - How'd no one mention this yet, seriously? 3) Golden Sun DS - I don't think I have to say anything. 4) 7th Dragon - Words can't describe it. 5) Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey - It's a SMT game using the Etrian Odyssey engine. Even if it's kinda futuristic which I tend to not like, I'm getting it, definitely. Last edited by Ryong; 01-15-2010 at 06:25 PM. |

In random order:
1) Mass Effect 2 [Xbox 360] : I just wanna know what happens next with Shepard. Besides it being an awesome game whose new changes will seem to make it even more awesome. 2) LEGO Universe [PC] (Oh, god, I'm going to need to upgrade/get a new PC. >___<) : Pro: It's LEGO. You get to build stuff of your own. There's no grinding. Cons: It's an MMO. PROS WIN! 3) Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening [PS3] : Dragon Age is awesome. I want more! 4) Yakuza 3 [PS3] : I'll admit never having played a Yakuza game before. Gotta start somewhere, amirite? 5) Infinite Space [NDS] : This just looks plain interesting. Plus: CUSTOMIZATION OF THE SPACESHIP OH GOD YES. Last edited by Melfice; 01-15-2010 at 01:46 PM. |
