If we have a Comic, Animation, Roleplaying, Discussion, and Video Games threads... Why dont we have a Music category? Just wondering.

Hmm... most of the music stuff goes into general (or if you make your own, arts and crafts), but yah, a music section might be a good idea if there's enough posting about it. Good question.

When I first posted my message about the Kingdom Hearts Soundtrack, I was looking for a music catagory. I put it in general and it was moved to Video Games. I am a fan of almost any music. I have been on a hit of J-pop recently and I would love a music forum.

It makes sense that your Kingdom Hearts soundtrack thread went into the video games category because, well, it involves a video game. There was a thread in general recently about classical music, so if you want to mention J-pop, put it in there.

Notice there isn't a "movies" category either, and movie discussion has stayed in the general section so long as it doesn't involve animation (hence the animation category) or video game movies (hence the video games category).

I wouldn't put a conversation about J-pop into a thread about classical music, though -- why not start a new one in the General section instead?

But the reason we don't have sections for those two things is that they're not directly related to what 8-Bit's about in the same way that comics, animation, and video games are (if that makes sense?), and also because we don't want to have a gajillion more sections to have to keep an eye on.

well then, this is where the random section comes along, right? Anything that dosen't fit in anywhere else goes in random. Or did random go into general? So then music and all that stuff goes into the general section.

Am I right, or am I, well, wrong?

Must've worded it wrong, but that's what I meant.

And I'm pretty sure General=random, random being anything that doesn't fit into any of the given categories.

But never "random" as in "posting as much stupid, pointless shit as fast as we can because we're too retarded to ever have anything interesting or funny to say", which is unfortunately what some people seem to think the word means when applied to forums, which is why that section's name was changed to "General".
