iPhone, Bitches!
iPhone.
You know you want it. Let this thread be a chronicle of the intensity of that burning, soul-consuming desire, and the infinite sea of depraved acts you would perform in order to satisfy it. |

You do realize you could google search any cell phone with that query and make it sound bad, right?
Anyways, I still do not own a cell phone and doubt this expensive contraption will convince me to do so. I just don't see the obsession of needing to be reached everywhere and hate phones and talking on them in general. Although, I do see the value of a PDA but a PDA is a lot cheaper than a PDA/Cell Phone combo, y'know? |

Of course, that added versitlity is pricey. And I believe the maximum a Compact Flash Microdrive can get you is something like 12GB. I've only got a 6GB drive on my Axim PDA, and that alone wasn't cheap. I also got myself a nice Ethernet adaptor for the Compact Flash, so unlike any PDA, I can access networking as well as WiFi. Then again, unlike a Smartphone, you can get used PDAs a whole lot easier. This iPhone, in of itself isn't all that impressive. If it ran Pocket PC, had all the storage of an iPod, and did WiFi, then it'd be impressive. Right now, it's a clear pass in my book. SWB

Actually I didn't look for the Iphone. I looked for the Ipod.
ALSO, cellphone crashes doesn't bring anything up about cellphones actually crashing. Just idiots crashing while driving cars. Similarily, looking up mp3 player crashing, has primarily pages on computers crashing or USB ports not working. The IPod is the only MP3 player that has a regular crashing problem, that I'm aware of. That was the similarity I was trying to draw. MP3 players? They never crashed. Mac makes an MP3 player? Oh man. THE CRASHES! Cell phones? Never crash. Mac makes a cellphone which is also their MP3 player that crashes? Yeah, I'm figuring it's not going to be the most stable cell phone on the market. All I'm sayin'.

RESPOND TO KRYLOS:
Actually, look up specific models, not just "cell phones" and you'll run into system crashes. Similarly, look up specific models of mp3 players and you will find a bunch of sites that report specific models of mp3 players crashing. Nobody is going to write about mp3 players in general crashing because mp3 players, in general, do not not all crash for the same reason. Also, look at how much of the market the iPod controls and notice that there will be a much larger amount of negative media for them because of this. Don't get me wrong. I'm not an Apple fan, and I own an mp3 player that is not an iPod but I do have a distaste for someone saying that something has a tendency to crash and using a google search on a long-established product with the words "product crashes" and attempt to use this as evidence. To say more concisely, I don't necessarily disagree with your opinion, I disagree with the way you are representing it. Maybe a preface of "To be fair," instead of "You do realize" would have been more proper. Also, I'm not meaning to be rude. Just stating something I believe to be true as thoroughly and politely as I can think of at the moment. |

Time is something else.

Why would I pay an arm and a leg for something that I could either get an equivalent of for cheaper, or better than for the same price? Apple makes overpriced things that really aren't any better than the alternatives, and they have that added air of pretention now.
I'm tired of all these people practically masturbating when Apple comes out with a 'new' product.

Not quite dead yet!

I dunno. I've already got a cell phone and an iPod. I don't feel like giving Apple another reason to rape my wallet, thanks.
