Lockhorns spoofs-It's funny because they hate each other!

I don't really know if this counts as a "comic" that I "do", but at my blog I rewrite the captions to panels from "The Lockhorns", sort of like that old Dysfunctional Family Circus thing. Mostly made to amuse myself, but if anyone likes that kind of thing, here it is:

I only have a few up there now, but I'll probably make more. Who knows, if people like them, I might make a lot more. Assuming I don't get sued or something.

Haha, the Lockhorns UNCENSORED AND UNCUT.

The problem with this comic, and many other newspaper comics, is it sort've wore off a long time ago. Though the Lockhorns sort've saved itself by avoiding any continuity and simply being a small collection of one-liners.

I agree that a lot of the old newspaper comics have gotten incredibly stale. I guess that's why doing stuff like this is so amusing, because the characters and situations are so bland and familiar, that any unexpected recontextualization is novel by comparison.

I miss the Garfield Randomizer...
