Leveling Pokemon: Make sure to battle everyone you see and never pass up a battle.

Copying Items: Um...what?

And two more things, simple yet powerful: Effort Values. The more a Pokemon has those points in one stat, the more powerful the stat becomes. Also, remember to see the nature the Pokemon has, because that lowers one stat, while one is increased, so be careful.

He means cloning items/pokemon. There isn't(or currently has not been found) a cloning glitch on this game, however, I don't need it, since I have my own ways to get my unlimited supply of PP maxes and Master Balls in this game, and without Action Replay.

Don't go overboard on catching pokemon. I only catch about 8 per play through and they end up in their 70's from all the experience they get for me only training them.

When you enter an area, make sure that your guys are a few (I prefer five) levels higher than those of the first trainer that you see. It takes a while to get the experience, granted, but it makes sure that you won't have any serious problems, or have to keep running back to town to get healed all the time.

And you don't need to even worry about Evs and IVs and the like unless you're building teams to fight people. To build your team to get through the game to fight the elite Four, just level your Pokemon normally, make sure they are all different types with strong and stable moves that are all different types (Earthquake, Surf, Psychic, Fly, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Wood Hammer, Crunch, Aqua Tail, Bide, Close Combat, Brave Bird, Aura Sphere and Double-Edge are all my staple moves and good moves) and they are about lvl 55-60 depending on your skill at playing Pokemon. AKA if you know how to use items well in battle, you can beat the Elite Four at lvl 55 (or even lvl 50). If not, go more with all your Pokemon at around lvl 60 or 65.

Tip: I beat the Elite Four with half my team being Pokemon I caught in the Wild at lvl 45 and just trained up to lvl 52 or so and put a few good moves on. The Elite Four is pretty easy as long as you know how to use items and weaknesses well.

If you're lucky enough to have an Action Replay MAX with the official Codejunkies codes, do the following:

Getting Shayamin (Easy, with AR)
  • Beat Elite Four
  • Go to victory road and go out the east exit (there used to be a fatso guy blocking the way.)
  • Get through the place with the black-haired girl.
  • Go to the big stone plate at the end of the route.
  • Use the walk through anything code and go straight north from the right of the big slab.

Eventually you'll end up in Flower Paradise if you went to the nintendo event and got the Azure Flute. You can catch Shayamin here (normally, but it won't give you the event flag) but its at level 30, so be prepared.

There is another way to do this by exploiting the "Elite Foor Door Glitch." Which was fixed in the North American Versions. I have the instructions for the door glitch, but that's it (I can't tell you where to go.)

Elite Four Door Glitch (Japanese Only)
  • Go to the Elite Four's first elite four.
  • Go back and face the door that locked behind you.
  • When right up against the door (and facing it), use surf.
  • Move around and voila!

Since this is inside a building, do not go too far without the directions found in the glitches guide on Neoseeker.com. Although when outside (on the world), you can walk as far as you wish using the Walk through anything code. (You'll actually wind up walking around the world map (Change the poketch to the marker map and try it out. I got from the fight area to the pokemon leauge once.)

Not really. EVs greatly help in competitive fights, like for example, against Gamefaqers who want to battle at a max level. I took a beat up from them once when I played against one of them, and I've been EV training my team ever since. Also, a good moveset is great to use. Between Stone Edge and Crunch, I am going to keep Crunch when Pupitar learns it, because Stone Edge sucks the big one (100 Power, but 80 Accuaricy and only 5 PP).

And I was level grinding before I went to fight the Elite Four the first time. Since this time the Elite is even tougher than in the past versions, that is why I trained my team to those levels. I think that this Elite is better, since the Pokemon give out more experience now at their levels and therefore, you can get your Pokemon to the max level quickly.

Yeah, Rare Candies are worth crap if you like EVs. (Also known as IVs as well.) You can also get double EXP due to a glitch introduced in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
  • Equip the EXP Share to your starting pokemon (IE: First one to battle.)
  • Win with just that pokemon.

This will either,
  • Traded Pokemon, double the EXP after boosted
  • Caught Pokemon, double normal EXP.
