Guilty Gear XX; Discuss!
Felt like GGXX love was clogging up the other thread.
I love Johnny - Jackhound in Accent Core was exactly what he needed. Another quick moving, laggy attack that puts him right next to the opponent. His 6K was a pain to FRC and it's nice to have one that puts you on the other side of the opponent. Sol in AC rules. I was always good with him but I love the implementation of a new half-Overdrive into his (otherwise useless) Fanfir. Jam's fun but she seems like a spamaholic to me. Anji is fun. He was always annoying in XX and #R with 6H, but they shortened the attack frames for it in AC and that made it fun, useful, and not unbearable. Anyone who talks shit about Potemkin clearly hasn't fought me, or another good Pot either. He is the bomb.

If AC had Justice and Kliff, it'd be perfect, but I guess thats what AC+ is for.
Also, Chipp owns. |

I use Ky and only Ky atm. I wish they would port AC to the PS3 or 360 as an XBL game or something because the only way I'm going to get any good at the game is through good online play, and if it's on one of those consoles I could use a stick with them since sticks for the PS3 and 360 aren't stupidly rare yet and I get the feeling that I could play GG a whole lot better with one. I know #Reload has online play through a hack but that game's ancient by now.

Im sure AC++ will be on PS3/360, and be online. I dont have an issue with the Dpad unless its a charge motion. Thats why I hate them, cause my thumb is fuckin giant.

I'm honestly in love with this game (Have #R and AC right now), but I'm pretty much the only one in my group of friends who plays it. Kinda lonely, honestly...
Anyway, I'm pretty good with Sol (Sidewinder loop is REALLY F'N HARD TO PULL OFF, but even getting only one sidewinder in is awesome), but I'm really not a pro at all. Plus Tyrant Rave alpha and beta were nice touches, mostly because the one that links with Fafnir is freakin' USEFUL, and nowhere near Sol's usual slowness in the old TR. Although that one still gets points for being classic. ...Sol mini-rant aside, I've also taken a liking to Order Sol and Jam, although I have yet to COMPLETELY figure them out. It's fun when I actually manage to play my PS2 and kick that who--I mean, I-no's ass (Goddamn whore...). |

So am I the only Baiken player around here or what?
She's pretty good for defensive, especially with her block attacks (The Sakura one also looks awesome). Tatamigeishi is the only thing cheesy about her and that's only if you corner juggle with it.

Potemkin and Dizzy are just about the only two characters I can't use. At all. And, learning how to play as Zappa well consistently is troublesome.
Otherwise, it's a great experience playing. |

I dig Baiken. Don't be thrown off when I refer to her repeatedly as Bacon.
I just don't dig her as much as I dig Potummy, but, as I mentioned in the other thread, I'm biased toward the bigger characters. They're always so much more satisfying to play, IMO... You've got to be in great form to really compete with them against the more balanced characters, who can outspeed them but aren't quite as powerful. I hate Order Sol because I can't use him and I have a buddy who just shreds me when he uses him. I goofed around with Order Sol for a while in training mode, trying to decode the ins and outs of the character, but the style just doesn't vibe with me at all.

Zappas terrible. Any character whos moves are based on the variables of the elapsed time is pretty much guaranteed to suck nards.

Naw Zappa's pretty sweet if you can use him successfully. Alot of his tactics involve Sword Mode and racking up enough orbs for Raoh. And then it's pretty much over.
