Superfluous
What would mankind be better without?
Personally, I say nails. I think we'd be much better off with some form of claws rather than nails. I mean, nails are just a hassle, but if we had claws, we could shank people who looked at as funny for having them. "What the- Are... Are those claws?" "Why yes my good man. Yes they are." "That's wierd." "You know what else is wierd?" "What?" SHANK! "You're dead!" And then we merry picnic our clawed days away. Also, pants are superfluous.

I'm no biologist... or anthropo...ologist.... whatever. I don't know jack about how the human body works. But toes seem a little useless to me.
Sure, back in the day we could use them to grasp things, but now all they're good for is stepping on to annoy someone. They also feel funny if you go too long without wiggling them, which is a bit of a nuisance.

Hey, I grab things with my toes all the time. They're very useful.
I think we could do without our appendixes, obviously, since they do nothing but potentially get infected. |

Actually, toes are important for balance. Especially your big toes. Major part of your body's system to keep you in equilibrium.

Yeah, if you lose anything but your pinky toe to basically have to completely relearn your balance.

Your coccyx and the appendix.
I mean, they're just there. They don't do anything except be a pain in the butt. Vestigial organs/bones suck. Last edited by Regulus Tera; 08-09-2008 at 04:06 PM. |

Yeah, why'd we lose tails? Could've been extremely useful for picking stuff up even if we didn't need the balance anymore. What a rip.
Hair is supposedly superfluous, we've already lost most of it off our bodies, only in a couple of places where the most body heat escapes but it doesn't help much overall really. Also lots of sci-fi shows that humans in the future have no hair anymore through evolution, though said shows may have been written by bald guys attempting to make us think that male pattern baldness is a sign that they are more evolved than the rest of us.
