Little Big Planet
Alternate title; Why In The Hell Isn't There Already A Thread For This??!
So, who has it, what does everyone think and what kind of crazy shit have people been making? Knowing the NPF, I should expect nothing less than the most elaborate and crazy creations ever conceived by man, so don't dissapoint. So far I've only tried making one level (having trouble getting a winch lift to work right though) and made a flying car. I also created a rocket made of poisonous gas. Don't ask me where that idea came from. But I've only had it a few days, so I haven't had much time to get to grips with it yet. Anyone else made anything awesome?

I got to play it at a friend's house. Fun game, though I am rather upset that they delete levels based on existing IP's. I know why, but what did they expect. They could have at least given a heads up before the game came out and people spent ten hours recreating Green Hill Zone.

I haven't gotten the chance to pick this up yet. As someone who knows very little about this game.... what is it? A glorified level editor where you can release your creations on an unsuspecting populace for them to work through?

Calling it a glorified level editor is a rather demeaning and completely understated remark. You can create anything. Literally. People have gone and recreated classic levels from mario and sonic, built transformers (as in the mechs), built gaint SotC monster levels which take several minutes to climb through and which walk across the map and one guy even built a tetris level.
But yes, the general idea is that people build levels and they can then publish those levels for others to play, in up to 4 player co-op, on or off line. It's actually really fun playing with others, as it often adds another level of competition (especially as seeing as a lot of levels are designed as races, such as the Mirrors Edge homage or the Gladiators obstacle course). It's actually really good.

I do not own a PS3.
However, if I had the disposable cash, LBP is a damn strong contender to get me to buy it.

LittleBigPlanet (it's one word!) does indeed look amazing, but its entry fee is way too expensive. You'll find that NPF leans more towards the Wii60 side of the road because of price than the PS360, I'm afraid. |

FRONT KICK OF DOOM!

What I find odd...
LBP has licenses with X number of people to make commercials for and yet... If someone else makes a decent level WITH their product, they're worried about Copyright violation to censor someone else's hardwork. |

So as long as your shit doesn't resemble another game, they won't OMG all over you?
Also, is the level creator complicated? I mean some of the things I'm seeing seem fairly detailed. Is it just a matter of a little practice figuring it out? I kinda forgot about this game but now I'm interested! XD |
