Oh dear a game that looked good on console A looks worse on console B which isn't built to have graphics as nice as console A
whatever shall we do Also where's the 12 zombies on screen info from, because I've heard it's supposed to be the same or only a slightly lower amount, and I feel just as comfortable not sourcing it. |

It's not REALLY about graphical power... but the fact that maybe a new game of the franchise would be a better idea than this late remake. People will compare the game to the original game. Not the consoles... that's what is going to affect sales.

I find it hard to believe that they couldn't place more than 12 zombies on screen considering they put 15 at the same time in RE4, which was on a less powered machine.
Then again, why haven't they released any screenshots?

Here's my thing. Capcom's also releasing Monster Hunter 3 soon. So, why would I support a gutted late port, when I can support a new effort that actually looks pretty and is part of a franchise I've wanted to try for a long time? Seems like my money would be better spent supporting something that effort went into.
Though, they're also releasing a slightly updated port of Monster Hunter G a few months before Tri. I dunno, maybe they're trying to prove to themselves that all they have to do is ports.

I never understood the hatred of ports. I mean if you played it originally then don't play it again and why do you care?
And if you haven't played it before you can play it now. It opens games to a new audience. |

Sure, the problem is when the port becomes a lesser product

Time is something else.

I like it when people blame the Wii when it was Capcom that decided to try and port this.
It's so lovingly backwards, I can't help but chuckle.

The Wii will have a new control scheme which might be better. They have said they are going to try and keep as many zombies on the screen as possible, there hasn't been any news so far (as far as I am aware) that they have had to reduce them except for the comment that they wre changing the philosophy to cater for more casual gamers (which will probably mean a decrease in enemies). This is nothing at all to do with limitations of the port but a different design philosophy. Nobody has played it yet and all we know is there is a graphical downgrade so I don't see how you can complain it a lesser product. |
