There Will Be Brawl
http://therewillbebrawl.com/episodes.php
With the latest video update I think it is about time this got more attention here. There Will Be Brawl is a live-action series starring characters from the Super Smash Bros. series. What makes it interesting is that, while it makes fun of the source material, it also takes itself very seriously, going from dark to downright brutal at times, which makes it creepy considering the portrayals are, at the core, accurate to the source material. Kirby's the best act, while Peach leaves a lot to be desired. |

Combining the ultimate in cliches from all genres, pop-culture references and brutal violence, The Will Be Brawl is guaranteed to make you realize what an asshole your favorite character acutally is.
I was wondering whether to make a thread about this, but I was lazy. I love the series (watched it ages ago on the escapist) and I agree: Kirby/Metaknight ripped off from "silence of the lambs" has all kinds of epic potential. |

I just noticed Saki Amamiya is one of the police officers, and he tends to pair up with Isaac.
Oh my. <3 |

I was wondering who some of those cops were ._. I felt like a bad gamer. Mostly because I am.
I've been meaning to do watch this for a little bit. A friend of mine and I were developing an idea much like this a while back, and it's cool to see this sort of thing. About how long does it take between episodes to come out? |

I watched through it now.
Some pretty great stuff. Did anyone else think that Ike was a better Marth than Marth?

Spoiler warning!
*Spoiler warning!*
*Spoiler warning!* You have been warned! ----------------------------------------------------------------- After watching the entire thing, I couldn't stop thinking about what Kirby said. "The clues have been there since the beginning" The question is, where was the beginning? Was he genre savvy to really say the beginning of our look into the Mushroom Kingdom or the beginning of the murders that happened before we did? It got me to look at every character and possible motivation for being the killer. And of course, being when you're doing analysis, you can't do it without being anal... So I had to write this out to understand who has the best motivations to be the disemboweler. This is going to be a long post. Fair warning. -------------------------------- Definite Nos Dedede Dead - Move on. Falco Killer? - Definite No Dead Nothing to see here Donkey Kong Killer? - No Dead by mallet. Good job Mario. Diddy Kong Killer? -No Still a kid. No killing here. He's more the small muscle. Ike Killer? - Definite No Reason - Shacked up in the hospital after his fight with Luigi and the three stragglers. Unless he was given a Maxim tomato offscreen, he's staying in IC. Kirby Killer? - Definite No Reason - One, he's dead. Two, he the Mushroom Kingdom's Hannibal Lecter. Three, he was the one that was incarcerated since the beginning. But I have a problem with accepting his "death." Something tells me he may have had an accomplice OR he knows who it is. With the limited contact that he has with the outside world it gives me a feeling that something has gone missing since the beginning... Little Mac Killer? - Definite No Reason - Somebody stole his bike. Luigi Killer? - Definite No Reasons - First, Luigi has been the main character for most of the goings on. He might be a drug dealer but he's been typefied as a scaredy cat from the get go. For him to be the killer, he'd need a killer instinct. Furthermore, Kirby has traumatized him with the death of Princess Daisy. Face it, my favorite character (writer's bias FTW!) puts him as a guy with a Badass Longcoat trying to save the world for once. Mario Killer? - Definite No Reasons - In Episode 8, Mario just lost Yoshi, who he had trained. He got his Hairstyle Change. More than likely, he's getting his hat back before the end of the series. Though he's Ax Crazy and usually solves his problems with his fists, there's nothing connecting him to being the killer. The Kirby kills may have gotten him unhinged, but he's more anti-hero than actual serial killer. MetaKnight Killer? - Definite No Reason - No matter if he's on the ground as charred remains or gone, there's no reason for him to be the killer. He's too obsessed with killing Kirby or keeping him apprehended. For him to suddenly be the sliced up serial is a huge stretch, same as Marth. Mr. G&W Killer? - You're really stretching... Pauline Killer? - No The thrill is gone between she and Mario and she was downstairs during the fight. Nothing here. Saki Amamiya Killer? - No Reason - Dead. Captain Falcon showed him his moves. Possible but doubtful Captain Falco Killer? - High probability Reason - Really powerful. His Falcon Punch can char people to a crisp and we've yet to see Tingle make an appearance. But by default, if he's doing this, then so is Pit. And no matter how you look at it, all the Ho Yay is kinda messed up. He also has a somewhat sadistic side since he took out Saki like it was nothing. If he killed Kirby, he wouldn't NEED a fire flower. Maybe Pit told him to get one? Fox Killer? - Highly Unlikely Reason - His accent, his scrounging around and hassling of Luigi points more to a guy that loves burglary, not necessarily a person that loves higher profile deaths such as what our guy is doing. Marth Killer? - Possible but signs say no He's good with a sword, but loves the rules more than the unstructured chaos of a dead body. If we had gotten more from him, such as a sadistic bent, I'd put him as number one. But since Ike and he were lovers in Tingle's place (*shudder*), I can't really say much on Marth, he was out of the way for "Kirby's" death, he hasn't been shown to be a top cat, and nothing really points to him being the serial killer. Olimar Dead - Move on. Sonic and Snake Too much of followers. They were possessed by Olimar and while they helped in the Luigi Brawl, they really don't have the individual personality that a serial killer has. High Listers Ganondorf Killer? - Mysteriously showing yes. Reason - Olimar gave him a pill filled with white and blue Pikmin. Looking at that, it's a poison pill. Now why would Ganon need a poison pill? He also had a red Pikmin used in the concoction. Is it possible he had duel purposes? I dunno but Ganon IS up to something. Even with his high honor, he may not be showing as the prime suspect but something's going on with him that isn't all peaches and cream. Samus Aran Killer? - Mysteriously showing yes Reason - She got away from Luigi for the Brawl. While they may have been meeting someone else, it's likely the killer has an accomplice. Blunt trauma to the head and a mercenary background make her suspicious. But she seems more hedonistic than a killer. Bowser Killer? - Uncertainly yes Reason - When people believe that he's the killer, I'm likely to go against it. It doesn't fit his MO that we've seen from the news and everything else. He kidnapped the princess and he's a gang lord. Where would they have the time to go on serial rampages? The only reason I put him as a High lister is because of the fact we have almost NO information on him. Wario Killer - Possible... Reason - This guy is full of secrets. He doesn't control the Ice Climbers and those guys are friggin insane! But Mario beat him pretty quickly and he seems the one to prefer the shadows and learning info to use rather than someone to kill others. Peach Killer - Possible but unlikely Reason - First, she's the "whore." If this were a Frank Miller joint, everyone would understand. She is the Damsel in Distress in all cases. She also has a sadistic side that can lash out at both Luigi AND Mario if need be. However her motivation for killing Kirby or Yoshi is different. Kirby was locked up and her killing Yoshi to get to Mario when they're with each other doesn't make any sense. The mob bosses I can understand but how would this clean up her image? She is already the highest power (legally) in the land. But copying Kirby doesn't seem to fit if she wanted to kill people. HUGE suspects Sheik/Zelda Killer? - Damn near. Reason - That ability to transport into and out of places is REAL convenient. She did it at least once with the Lakitu Brother and it's not to hard to say that she's the killer's accomplice or even accomplished a few of her own. My only issue is the martinis that she's drinking. It could be that they give her a DID disorder or make her not remember what's going on. My problem with this theory is the fact that it doesn't add up to the fact that she always seems sane when we see her. Link Killer? - Damn near. Reason - Let's face it. That sword can make him slice people like hamburger on a Tuesday. He's been real skilled at it. He's Hylean and he's been the one supplying us with info about others for quite some time. He IS intelligent, he has resources ( he got a Maxim Tomato for Luigi) and he could do all this to put Zelda on the throne. Or he could be bitter about his home being destroyed by two elections. Either way, he has a LOT more motive than others to be the killer (or part of a killing crew). Damn near Certain Red Killer? - Best shot at saying Yes Reason - First, I don't know what Kirby is. But he gets a LOT of information from the outside from both what people tell him. My issue is that there was something else that he was noting. When the princess was in the dungeon, I remember Squirtle spitting on her. Got me thinking, why in the hell is he in there? Is it possible that the person who is taking care of all of the Pokemon is also the one that's committing this crime? He's sweet, he's innocent, and he doesn't say much about himself. If he is the killer, he's really, REALLY good at hiding what he is. He can have any pokemon use a bite attack, take out a victim, then leave the remains to be found. It could be he uses a Pokeball to do something reminiscent of "The Fly." Fact remains he has a LOT of things happening that just don't add up because he's the "young, innocent" one.
