Wheel of Time
I am not sure if this has been brought up before but I was wondering if anyone else enjoys the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan as much as I do. Also I was wondering if anyone knows when the next book of the series comes out. With the only book store in my town being converted to a Christian book store *gag* I dont have a easy access book store to go to that doesnt involve me driving an hour just to find out the dude working there knows nothing about books and just plays solitare on the computer.

He hasn't come out with the next one, but he did release a short novel about Moraine (sp?) before meeting with Rand and the rest. It's basically her story of life in the tower and why she goes out to find him (and also how she makes Lan her warder).

I too like the books, but I am more anxious then ever to see the end of the story....last time it took me a year to read the whole series.
Finish the story already!!! *fur bristling*

Yeh, that book about Moiraine is called New Spring. Book 11 is supposedly due in October.

Really? I'd heard that it wasn't due out for a year or two... But my information is probably wrong.

I did enjoy the story, for the first 5 or 6 books (which coincidentally or not) I read in fairly quick succession. After that, the books came out too slowly that I lost all track of the story and I really don't have the initiative to reread the books. So I'll probably not read anymore (haven't even read the latest one) till the story is finished (if that ever happens).

I agree chrono they have been rather slow in coming out with new ones after the 7th. And some of the newer ones have been total busts I cant recall the names of them but there have been a couple that barely mention Rand Mat or Perrin and that is the whole reason I read the books is for those three char's

Did you notice all the extra bit characters? He must have 250 of them. It's craziness.

What gets on my nerves is that the illuminator chick asked mat to solve the riddle about the bellflower several books back. He hasn't addressed it since. Now THAT is annoying.

Wheel of Time is a very good series.
Personally I suspect that Robert Jordan has found that dealing with a veritable horde of minor characters in any detail is far from easy. I daresay that if you plot the number of characters present in a given book against the amount of time taken for it to come out you will find some relation.
