Read Or Die

Well, I picked up the R.O.D. TV boxset today, and I must confess that it's beautiful. It looks and feels just like a book!

But anyway, enough about that. For those of you who don't know, Read Or Die started as a manga, then made its way to OVA(Original Video Animation) status. It's about Yomiko Readman, aka "The Paper," who can manipulate paper to form various objects(the money-sword is my personal favorite). And she fights evil clones of important historical figures, which have superpowers based on what that historical figure was known for. In my opinion, a pretty unique series, and I enjoy it.

So, what're everyone else's thoughts on it?

Wait a minute... I thought the OVA was Yomiko and the TV version had her friend or something named Nenene.

But I’ve only seen the first couple of TV episodes so I’m not sure.

From a fansite I read, you're thinking of Read Or Dream. Read Or Die: TV has characters from both series. It just wouldn't be Read Or Die without Yomiko, in my opinion.

I saw Read or Die. Wasn't the best, but I still liked it.

I was under the impression that the whole "two names" crap came from incorrect information and plans that never came to fruition. I've yet to see two telvision series with these characters; instead, just the two names referring to the same episodes.

As far as Yomiko's appearance -- she is not in the early episodes of the TV series, as her absence is a key point.
