SW books, where will they go now? *caution, possible spoilers ahead*
I just finished The Unifying Force, and I was thinking, "What's going to happen next?" I hope they don't stop, even if it looks like a good stopping point. So, what do you guys think?

The New Jedi Order surprised the hell out of me. It renewed my faith in Star Wars novels, even though killing Chewie was more than a little heartbreaking for me. I have faith that wherever they go from here, it will kick ass.

Anyone else heard the rumors that George Lucas might produce the final Star Wars movie trilogy after all? Saw this on Slashdot, I believe, a few weeks ago. Apparantly there were murmurings among Lucasarts that the company's employes had been forced to sign a NDA(non-disclosure agreement) about anything to do with Star Wars movies past the already (or almost fully already) released two trilogies, specifically the planned third trilogy that Lucas was supposedly abandoning.

I've heard that too, Kefka. Very intruiging.
*spoilers* The worst part for me was when Anakin died. Ack, that was bad. |

Bah. Yeah, MoM, that was the most horrible part of it all (x_x). Jacen should definetly replace him. Somehow. As for the movies, they could do a Sci Fi series/mini series on the XWing books, and the Thrawn trilogy would make great movies. If they were not completely scarred by names like "Dexterr Jetserr," and things that slashed the EU to pieces (Jango Fett x_x).

Personally I didn't like the whole NJO series. I read whatever the first book was, realised that it wasn't going to be over for another seventeen freakin' books, and said forget it. I mean seriously, maybe Thrawn was cool enough to stretch over that length of time, but the Yuuzhan Vong certainly weren't. Grr.
Really, I think I'm burned out on the novels. I read them pretty much as they came out from about sixth grade on, and now I really think if Luke goes off on another mission to find himself, I'm going to scream. Children of the Jedi must die! *stab* What I'd like to see, though, are a series on what became of Wraith Squadron. As far as I've read, they're never mentioned again (except probably in the final NJO, which I hear features a cameo of every EU character EVER), and I'd like to know what happened to them. |

The wraiths take part in a few books in the NJO series.
I liked NJO. I felt it mixed it up a little bit. And Luke dosen't 'go off to find himself', he dosen't have the time. At least the looked like they might actually lose at a few points. There were lots of cameos in the final one. I quite enjoyed it, and loved the ending. I just wonder how their going to make the reconstruction interesting. They hinted at tensions rising b/w different races agian at the end, maybe there will be some huge race war? I'm going to put *possible spoilers* in the title, so we don't have to worry about doing it every time we're posting something. |
