Red Sox vs. Yankees
Does anyone follow baseball? Sorry, but this series is exciting the hell out of me. Sox have come back from a 3-0 deficit in the American League Championship Series to tie it up 3-3, with the biggest game in their franchise history being tomorrow (tonight if it's already the 21st). They're up against the curse of the bambino, and their own franchise. The Red Sox are the only major league team to never win a world series, if I recall correctly, but also the only one in the history of the game to tie up at 3-3 during a championship.
And well, also, I hate the Yankees. Anyone got anything to add? I'm stoked.

I don't think you are right about the Socks being the only team to never win a world series. I'm fairly confident they won in 1912, but I am too lazy to follow up on that. I don't think that every team has won the World Series. There seem to be too many expansion teams and too many dynasties to allow that.
As a Chicago fan, I am required by law to say that the Cardinals suck. The Yankees suck. And the World Series would have been too good last year if the Cubs played the Red Socks.

But, you're not the only one excited about this, Shiney. I'm rooting for the Red Sox. You can do it, guys!

I am definitely rooting for the Red Socks. Only New Yorkers and Commies root for the Yankees.
As much as I like the National League, I don't care for either of the two teams left. And I can relate to the Socks a lot. They deserve a victory.

I think it was from the original teams of baseball though. I'm sure there are expansions that haven't, but of all the teams that created baseball back when the major league was established, I'm fairly sure the Sox are the only ones to not win a series.
So this is their year to do so! Domination. They will be triumphant. And as far as the NL goes, are there any rivalries or dominant teams there apart from the Braves? 'Cause I mean it seems the NL champions switch up all the time, while in the american league they are fairly well established usually.

I've been hoping that the Sox would make it through, and it seems like they got the drive to do just that. Tommorrow's game should be interesting.
At least, for those watching/listening to it. Being in St. Louis, I've been following the Cardinals/Astros series more closely, and that's what I'll be listening to at work tommorrow/today, most likely.

Go Yankees!!
Clearly, the powers that be have heard my prayers, as I have had tickets to game 7, and would have been unable to enjoy them had the sox not come back. Of course, all of YOUR prayers are in absolute vain, as the Yankees will win he series this year, and send the Red Sox home crying about how they almost won. Boo hoo. |

Yeah, I missed that happening but I heard all about it. The part that gets me isn't that he did it so much as that he actually tried to pretend he was innocent. That was the really fucked up part.
Even Torre couldn't argue long, he just had to appease the fans. They all knew.

I missed it too, but from what I hear is that he just whacked the shortstop's (Maybe 2nd baseman's) arm as he ran past. It was really obvious, but he pretended like he was just running. People were going nuts after that.
