One-Piece Roleplay (INTEREST THREAD)

I put interest in caps since so many people take interest as signup. So to make this point blatently clear I'll now explain myself. I don't want to run a One Piece Roleplay, but I think it would be a really cool roleplay to be in. I just started reading it and its a great world to play with, everyone has these great dreams and these precious treasures to protect, so they are all striving to be the best. What is a better thing to roleplay about.

If you haven't read One Piece here's some basic back story. Years ago the King of All Pirates "Gold Rogers" was captured and executed publicly. His last words explained that whoever found his treasure could have it all and it would be found in one piece. Enter the golden age of piracy. People of every background began searching for the treasure, in the hopes of fame and fortune and it has yet to be found even today.

But what kind of story would it be without magic. There are magical fruits known as the Devil's Fruits. They grant those who eat them magical powers, at a large cost for any pirate, they can no longer swim.

And beyond the magic of the Devil's Fruit, are those who can train to become incredibly strong. So its not as if you have to be unable to swim to be able to win. Thats about all the backstory you need for the world, the rest can be picked up along the way.

Now as for the roleplay setup itself it should be pretty simple.

Name: (Real Name)
Nickname: (Your cool Alias)
Occupation: (Naval Officer, Pirate, Thief, Swordsman)
Personal Treasure: (What you care about more then your own life.)
Weapon of Choice: (Whether its the sword your dead rival left behind or the axe you have for an arm, what do you fight with.)
Fighting Style: (Gotta kick butt some how.)
Appearance: (Duh.)
Backstory: (Prove your worth as a roleplayer and explain everything.)

As far as devil's fruit I say that the players should have the option of whether or not they would eat the fruit. But the GM should decide what powers they get from the fruit. So like the characters in the story you take a risk when you eat the plant. Granted all powers will be cool and you should probably only get three special techniques for your power or something to that extent. I'll leave it to whoever decides to run it.

Basically its a cool idea someone can run with. Just an idea I'd like to toss out. Also I'll offer my help to whoever takes over the roleplay idea... if I take a liking to them.

I'd join it. I just finished reading the second manga, and its awsome. I even have a basic character idea. so I guess now its just trying to find a GM I would want to play with

It's an interesting rp. I would join it, but since I never read One Piece I doubt I would be any god at gming.

actually I tried making a one piece RP awhile ago but it fell through. I wouldn't mind trying again

This is a pretty good link site http://www.pisoga.net/navigation/ I have been having trouble finding the official site though, if they even have one. so if anyone can find a good site that explains the world that would be awsome, because It can be a real pain to type up alllllll the information.

I've only seen gum-gum which is stretching powers where you can't be killed by bullets, and chop-chop which allows you to seperate your body and not be killed by swords. But I'm not that far in.

Aerozord I think it would be best if whoever ran it wasn't already running 2 other roleplays. After all the majority of the GMing for this would be coming up with villains to fight and interesting characters take quite a lot of time to create.

oh I wouldn't want to GM. The RP would be about the same as the last one and it failed. We would need someone elses take on things. To put things simpley its hard to make things come together
