I play ragnarok i really don't see why some people seem to hate it so much. yeah i know it isn't the most amazing mmorpg out there but it's still fun and i like the simple anime style sprites, besides with 56k i can play what i can handle. Even if the lvl grind can be bad at times, make a few friends and join a guild and it will be a lot more fun.
As far as the other stuff the trail is 15 days, and it cost 12 bucks a month to keep playing, i just got my client from the site, and i'm not sure on the crads. All in all it can't hurt to try it.

All your answers should be found there. I don't play but my friends do, and they have some weird obsession with it that I can't understand. Now, off for another 8 hours straight of City of Heroes! |

i played it for a month or two, but there just wasn't enough content there to keep me willing to pay a monthly fee. it reminded me of Diablo, without the fast paced action and without the loot drops. besides, City of Heros is better...

If I wanted to level, I'd at least play something with a plot.

The obvious lack of plot disturbs me. I mean, the world admits that it is a game. Not a single player of iRO can tell you, off the top of his head, what the point of the game is, or the story behind it.

As long as we're all CoH-boosting...
And BOY does, City of Heroes have plot! Not only did you get bits and pieces through the regular missions, but story arcs give you serious, real PLOT in a way that no other MMORPGs seem to do. Thumbs up, my friends, for story arcs. |

OK well , i would like a plot and quest most mmorpgs don't have a plot, and yes i do know that CoH has quest with good plots but the quest all boild down to kill all the bad guys and sometimes click on the flashing thingy. So yes as a shocker Coh boils down to pure combat (which isn't all that bad and i do love that game). But my point is you can't really blame ragnarok for being all combat either, and yes i do note ther BIG differences in combat between the games, but then again you had to buy CoH (2 CD's) while ragnarok is all on the net so yes there is a big difference.
In short yes i LIKE ragnarok and i think more people should give it a chance, like i said before it can't hurt.

Bimbo: CoH has more plot than you mentioned. Each mission by itself reveals little tidbits, but more importantly, after you've done plenty of missions with one group and dug a history of fighting against them, you start getting story arcs. I've had one story arc so far, and it was really awesome. It's like actually starring in your own issue of a comic book. You get plot twists and revelations about the enemy, and when it's all done you get a souvenir that tells you about your adventure you had.
It's quite awesome. CoH has a lot more plot depth to it than most MMORPGs, and, more importantly, a lot more than most people are giving it credit for. |
