Why does gmail eat up my resources?
Of course I doubt gmail specifically is the issue but its where the issue is most obvious. Often when writing an e-mail it causes my computer to freeze up for several seconds. I basically write about one sentence than wait a good ten seconds for it to actually appear. My task manager has it using up around 25% of my processor.
This seems odd to me, it didn't do this before. I have a 6 core processor and 8 gigs of RAM. So I doubt its an actual lack of resources. I did a virus scan and nothing of note shows up. Hulu was another site my computer seems to have trouble with. Though not as bad there are spots the video (but not audio) freezes even when fully buffered and set for the lowest quality. Any idea what it could be?

Are you using Chrome?
Because Google seems to be fucking up Chrome and related things. |
