Best Guitar Riffs Of All Time
What are they?
My thoughts: Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns and Roses Anything Van Halen (yes anything) There are others out there, but I thought I would just get the thread started.

Hmmm...You know...I've gotta love the intro of Hard as a Rock by AC/DC...I'm not sure if it qualifies as a "Best" guitar riff, but still...

A lot of riffs by Neil Young qualify for that. Most notably, "Hey Hey My My," especially in live versions. "Dangerbird" is great too, but less the riff than the whole song, actually.
EDIT: And, of course, the one from the Dead Man soundtrack. |

I have always really liked "More Human Than Human" by White Zombie.

Smoke on the water - deep purple. So classic, so memorable, so easy to play.

My favorite is Heartbreaker by Led Zeppelin, with "Immigrant Song" a close second.

There are so many...And yet I can barely think of a few...
Let's see...Um... TNT by AC/DC. It's just classic. As well as Back in Black. Then there's Born To Be Wild by Steppenwolf.

Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" and "Iron Man," to name only two, are very distinctive if nothing else. I guess it really depends on how much you like the song; if I hear the riff of, say, "Satisfaction" by the Stones, I immediately recognize it, but I get nowhere near as gleeful as with "Hey Hey My My."
