Project Reunion - Final Fantasy Hell
I have been officially positively insisted to make a thread for this, so here it goes.
My friends and I get together whenever we can to have a LAN party with all our games and stuff. However, this year, we figured we'd do something extra at some point in order to...well, just have fun. We're all big fans of well made RPG's, and Final Fantasy has done a lot for the genre, so we figured...what the heck. Let's play them all? That's how Project Reunion got started. Basically we're going to run through the entirety of the series (remakes being swapped for the originals in some cases; NA only got FF III as a DS remake and I sold my Famicom years ago) in the span of a week. Or, at least, try. Final Fantasy Reunion That's the rudimentary website/forums we've set up for the project. There's more detail, and a games list, there. All in all, it should be a blast, and it's all being streamed...so people can watch us go into RPG overload, fall over, and die. |

Do you guys plan on finishing all 11 games (1-10 + 12)? If you're including spin-off series I don't think it's possible you'll finish if you include Tactics series, Mystic Quest, X-2, Revenant Wings, Dirge of Cerebrus etc.. even assuming you play everything at the fastest possible clear times and don't bother to eat/sleep/use the bathroom at all.
Unless I'm misunderstanding this and each of you is going to be playing a separate game from each other in order to cover the entire FF series in which case I'm pretty sure that's possible if you get 1 person to a game, maybe 2.

And yes, we'll be including the spin-off series (although Crystal Chronicles is shaky at this point). And it probably is impossible. |

Best thing to do would be to make a list of all the games you're including and then hopefully have at least half that many people included in your project for finishing the games. At the very least you can get an accurate number of how many games you have in total and then divide that by how many people you have playing so you know how many games each person needs to finish in that week in order to complete it.
Also you may want to look at some of the average times it takes to finish the games. Most of the Final Fantasy games will generally run about the same amount of time in length but it still might help when deciding who gets what games.

You can beat FF:CC in five (in-game) years if you swing it right.

Are we talking "finish" or "finish exploring every nook and cranny and beating optional superbosses"?

@Moogle: That's what we did. Our current gamecount is at around 20, so if we're all doing one a day, we can make it with room for an extra game. This'll obviously fluxuate a little bit; FF7 takes more time, but FF9 only takes 13 hours if you swing it, so they can balance.

Well it sounds very fun, but almost impossible.
I still replay the older six specifically 3 and 5 all the time, and I don't see how you could even plan to beat those original 6 in time! But hey good luck and all that. =] |
