I'm torn between happiness (there's no way Spiderman 4 would have been anything other than a crushing disappointment) and sadness (the reboot sounds even worse, and Raimi deserved much better after his work on the first two Spiderman titles...Sony really treated him like crap.)
However, all of this movie bullcrud pales in comparison to a Spectacular Spiderman renewal. Don't let us down, Marvel!

They really shouldn't do a film reboot. If they absolutely have to do this then they should take it to TV. It could be like the first few seasons of Smallville but better.

Reboot!? Why? What? That's... stupid.
Spiderman 1 and 2 were great comic book movies and each are a very nice Popcorn Hero Flick on their own. Why scrap that when there is nothing wrong with it? Seems like Hollywood peeps have forgotten how to do business. Do you remember that there was a Highlander 3 movie, even though it retconned Highlander 2? Highlander 2 Never existed, and yet, the next move continued from Highlander 1. That way they manage to actually move the series foward. Even though nobody actually made it as good as that unniverse could get and/or deserved. They should nod towards Spiderman 3, keep it retconned as possible and move on From there with the Lizard story and having Kane coming in to hunt the lizard and spiderman. Simple story, get's the point across, will sell. |

From what I read it's going to be set in high school and deal with Parker being torn between school drama and super powers. Also the villian was said to be the Vulture.
I'm not happy. |

So we are clear

while I do agree certain things need to die from continuity for it to continue they lost what made the first movie so good. I doubt they can recapture it.
