Ninja Interest Thread

Like stated, this is to see if there's enough interest to make a ninja RP. Now, this RP will be based loosely off the Naruto series (yeah, I'm somewhat addicted right now. I'm up to episode 120 in fansubs.) While non of the characters from the show will be in the RP, it'll have the same basis where there are hidden villages, different ranks of ninja, missions, jutsus, etc.

The basis of the RP is that all of our characters had passed the Chuunin exam that was held a month before hand. So our characters aren't weaker Genin, but we aren't all super strong, either. We come from different hidden villages, and as such we aren't all the same. Different villages have different techniques that are passed down only through those that live in the village. In another series of eventually futile peace holdings, it's agreed among the villages that they should create a squad of Chuunin from the different villages. They hope that by making comrades amongst different villages, the ninja can not only spread benevolent feelings through their villages, but they can also be ready to work together in case someone or something threatens the livelihood of all the villages.

If there is enough interest, I'll probably put up a sign-up sometime after Christmas.

Also, if anyone wants to help me with some ideas for a stat system for this, let me know.

No stats. Stats are bad for ninjas.

Also, for Chuunin strength, would it be based off the Rookie 9 and Team Gai, or normal Chuunin like Mizuki and Iruka?

Normal Chuunin.

Personally, I think of the Rookie 9 as being Chuunins already, so I don't see much of a difference. But you're all somewhat above-average Chuunin.

Well I'm running a naruto based rp with a few friends on an alternate server and I wanted to have a stat system, so I kind of cannibalized an old one that Pyros had used for his naruto rp.

Seals: The speed and accuracy of your use of seals.
Ninjutsu: Your level of skill with ninjutsu techniques.
Taijutsu: The strength of your taijutsu techniques.
Genjutsu: Your resistance and capibility of Illusions.
Knowledge: Your tactical ability, while naruto seems like a moron his complex techniques shows he does have knowledge to spare.
Strength: How much you can lift.
Dexterity: The overall grace of your techniques.
Speed: The rate at which you carry yourself and your gear.
Bloodline: The time and practice you have put into your families ancient techniques.
Stamina: Could also be called chakra.

In the game I have going 2 is the average genin stat, 5 is the chuunin and 9 is the jounin. I thought it worked pretty well, since those without a bloodline have much greater stats everywhere else then those who have a sharingan or some other such technique. Its a good balancer in my opinion but I admit it has its faults.

my question is will we have blood-line abilities? I am not asking about straight rips from the show though. I had an idea for one I have been wanting to try.

It depends on whether I decide to do stats or not.

If we get stats, then the characters would have Bloodline Limits, but with matching cuts in other stats.

If we don't have stats, then I'll decide whether you get a Bloodline Limit or not, and I'll put a handicap on something else you can do.

Hmm...a pity I won't be around for two weeks when this starts. I do recommend that you make them decide what they specialize in, and try to have them avoid genjutsu.

EDIT: And Kawarimi too. There's a lot of people who'll decide to pull one out of their ass.
