Where do moderators come from?

An odd question that does not need answering. How do you moderators know each other? How did you become moderators? What is your relation to Brian, and why did he pick you guys (and gals) to become moderators?

I know curiosity killed the cat, but was the cat banned?

Actually, the majority of us were just regular posters to start off with. Proving that even if you start off on a bad path, you can adjust so that you get recognised by the mods/admins and therefore you may even become one. Spooky, that.

Yah, one of the first things I did on this forum was accuse Mash of being immature for editing one of my posts... which got my throat leaped down by about five-ten people and sent me lurking for a bit. This was years ago on TWC... I only even remember it because I'm ashamed of it. I've also been banned once (for a month) for being a complete fucking moron.

If I can make mod, they must be willing to forgive anything so long as you straighten up.
