Xbox 360 Elite...Machine or Myth?

With a new TV all set to be delivered tomorrow I figured it was time to upgrade my 360. I want those HDMI connections! And a 120G HDD wouldn't hurt either.

Sadly it seems not a single store in Houston (that I can find) has one in stock. From the patterns I'm wondering if they just arn't carrying them.

Anyone know what the sale numbers for the Elite is? Is Microsoft just selling them out, or have they made something noone wants to carry?

Any similar stories?

Well you could allways buy one off of ebay.

Yeah, I COULD, but I don't care for Ebay to much. I would rather buy one stock new instead of taking a chance on something someone is reselling.

Look, in all fairness, people didnt seem to care for the Elite AT ALL... so it might be hard to find...

Yeah, I was wondering if it's reception was just so bad that none of the stores carry it. I suppose I should get the regular system, since I think that has the HDMI ports, but I would like the 120G HDD, and I'm not gonna pay $180US extra for it.

So I'll probably just end up dealing with the one that I have. I just wish Microsoft would be nice enough to sell it direct since I can't find it anywhere else.

Though that kinda kills my plan of letting my roommate use my old 360 on my (soon to be) old TV for some Kingdom Under Fire co-op goodness

Amazon has them in stock, and they sell most things direct.

Only thing I saw on Amazon were bundles and their listings for new and used starting at $500. Don't really want to pay them an extra $50

In my area, ALL video game consoles which are not PS3s have extremely limited availability. It's been maybe five or six days since our last shipment of 360s, which went out the door almost immediately.

Just give it a little time. I know you want to play your games, but just stick to your regular ol' 360 for now. Everyone's still trying to recover their inventory after the holidays.

I got one last may and I quite enjoy it. I love it. Sleek, black. Even if I couldn't find a black wireless adapter... but who cares. I loves my system very much.

I just went with a 360 Pro. No spiffy 120G HDD, but at least I saved $100. Looks awesome on my new TV
