Pilk, It's Deloinkfull! and Other Necessary Facts From "Look Around You"
After a bout of insomnia, I fitfully turned to Adult Swim (a risky exercise since Venture Bros. probably wasn't on) and caught the tale end of a very peculiar, very British show that looked an awful lot like some of the crappy science films I had to watch in middle school, except the narrator was talking over a video of a straightlaced professor getting rectally examined while his temperature spiked from 'Germs'. I stuck around and it was another episode (which I found out was called Look Around You) about ghosts, where I 'learned' that their was no reason to be afraid of spirens and that ectoplasm is perfectly edible and a great accompaniment to pig's milk.
Anybody else catch it? I understand from an A.V. Club interview that's it actually pretty old (2002) to be on Adult Swim now, so I guess this goes into another column of shows you Brit misers keep away from the Colonies.

Ahh yes, good old Look around you. You'd think that you could actually fool a number of not so bright people with the experiments they do. If I were a Science teacher I would put this on in a class once just to see the Children's reaction!
If you like that genre definitely check out Garth Marenghi's Darkplace; Action-Horror-self-serving 80's TV show parody made so horrendously bad with the acting, directing, editing and effects it's hilarious. Just the same as Look Around You all the episodes are on Youtube. Here is my favourite scene. Last edited by Corel; 01-27-2009 at 08:36 AM. |
