PSP2 or just a wanna be DSi? Well Sony which is it?
http://kotaku.com/5231844/rumor-sony...-is-the-psp-go
Hmm this sounds like it might be a DSi in PSP form. And giving sony's track record, it probably is just a naked psp (by naked I mean no UMD drive). But we won't know till E3 one month from now.

Sony seemed to start getting back on track now with the PSP and the PS3 which are doing much better than most thought it would ever do this generation... i wouldn't go ahead and say that i expect them to shoot on their own foot right now.
Sure, the PSP 3000 is as much as a whore-console-update than the DsI but sony at least never forced anyone to upgrade like Nintendo did... dropping the UMD like that is kinda of a big deal. I really don't think sony would drop it without the information leaking out first, i mean, there are movie deals with the UMD, right? If it was discontinued the information would leak from somewhere else... I wouldn't believe this just yet. I see it as a "rumor" and nothing more, the only shred of credibility is that it comes from another source than Kotaku... But, if i had to guess, a Bigger screen, internal memory and maybe cheaper price (because it can drop the UMD, so the cost should go down) doesn't sound that bad of an deal... |

Especially if there will be no-charge locations at game stores to covert your UMDs, though it would be nice if Sony released its own PSP software for doing that.
A touchscreen interface and onboard memory are very tantalizing features. Keyboard less so, but mostly because I wouldn't use the PSP for anything that requires a keyboard (like posting or even general internet browsing); WiFi coverage just isn't that complete around here. Unfortunately the touchscreen interface appears to still be just a rumour. I would've liked to have seen a slightly larger machine that supports four shoulder buttons, and really a second analog stick, for a more ergonomic experience with older PS1 titles, but that probably hampers its portability. |

PSP is doing better now? Since when? Name some games, apparently I've been out of the loop? Still thought the only decent exclusive was MGS Portable Ops.

That's not bad... although, you did picked the one that is tied on the Top 10 spot (and the fact that Advent children on that list is a movie...). And at least on Japan, the PSP had a nice sales boost... on a overall picture since launch, it sold 50 million worldwide (not close to the DS series that totals 96 million... but still not bad.) the situation of the PSP has at least improved. |

Magus: Well, you have to remember, a lot of people import games not released outside of Japan, which includes frankly a lot. There's even a Phantasy Star Universe sequel that my friend gave my brother. Didn't look too bad, but it had some odd design choices. Not the least of which that through some reality-altering desire to include more boobs on the part of the developers, the ball droids have all been replaced by half-sized CASTs of the female persuasion that can join you in battle and often kick more butt than you do. But I digress. There are more games for the PSP than people give it credit for.
