TF2: Where Maybe We Can Stop Talking Logically About The Game and Start Arguing
THREAD TITLE IS MEANT TO BE IRONIC
So they got this interesting blog post over on Ubercharged.net that's talking about an interview Shacknews did with Robin Walker. He basically says no, the head items are cosmetic changes only cause we think its funny. He also mentions detaching Achievements from unlockables, which I think I'm okay with. He could be lying out his ass cause they dug into the update and checked it out, but that also could be them just screwing with us. They did do the TF2 MMO patch, after all.

They need to post the plans to the pyro. I find it adorable and wish to have one.
An issue could arise in that it's almost definitely really flammable. Someone's gonna get a stupid, stupid idea. Edit: Wait, Mauve made it? Neat. |

So, the unlockable alternative to the sniper rifle is going to be something that makes Snipers want to get closer.
My theory is that it'll be a rifle without a scope - you still aim and get a bonus for headshots, but you don't zoom in nearly as much while aiming. Probably some other stuff will be different, but at the core it's going to be a gun that encourages going for headshots at medium to close range. |

What will offset the increased risk? Maybe increased damage? But a headshot's a headshot either way, so...
I prefer thinking about the secondary and melee weapons. Those are always nicely radically different. Last edited by Viridis; 05-07-2009 at 02:08 AM. |

I was looking around in the steam forums a few weeks ago and their was a thread that showed some of the codes valve accidentally added in the last update. Some of those where Stuff like No charge No decreased speed and faster fire rate. So im guessing that we wont have a charge anymore but maybe a increased rate of fire or a burst fire thing. the scope could be less or be none at all...it will be interesting to see.

That's what it seemed like when they were talking about 'bring the fight closer.' A no-scoping rifle would mean that he could fire with better accuracy at closer distances, could see spies without zooming in, but wouldn't get the 'meatshot' bonus.
Considering the usual rumors of 'better damage/longer reload' or other such bullshit its nice to see some ingenuity.

Its talking about the Head slot items, I'm pretty sure.
But I mean Valve said it would only be cosmetic, either to try and 'ease' us into it or maybe the information leaked/tooled was wrong, or whatevs.
