as i'm sure Nintendo has a hand in this (why else would a developer take such a high risk?) the least they should do is release a Motionplus + Game Bundle, and a Wii + MotionPlus + Game Bundle.

Wii Sports Resort is probably going to be the best-selling game of this generation, so I doubt Nintendo is too worried about alienating too much of their market.

Or we could totally not be conspiracy loving lunatics that think Nintendo is the source of all evil and look at the situation logically and objectively. There was clearly at least some sort of vision for what Red Steel was supposed to be. Unfortunately they went at it too soon and neither the software nor the hardware was up to it yet. The game engines have improved and now they know how to squeeze more out of the Wii's comparatively limited resources. The controller hardware has also no improved allowing for more precise and realistic control. Red Steel as a concept really could not have worked at release. It should not have been done at release in the first place. That was a bad decision. Making a proper squeal that addresses those issues, I assume, on a more capable system is not a bad move. Financially it might be a bit risky but if they learn from their mistakes and deliver on their promises, which is actually possible now, there is a chance for redemption. Going at it halfway and making it normal controller compatible would just give us the original Red Steel which would be a colossal mistake and a giant money pit.

Red Steel 1 didn't do well. Other games have been announced and are coming out with MotionPlus as optional (Tiger Woods 09 for example) and some of those even have Multiplayer option to them.

So it's only odd that Red Steel 2 would come out "requiring" MotionPlus without even annoucing a Bundle with the thing. It's just too big of a bet.

Of course, it DOES make some sense if you can think that Nintendo could've just gone to Ubisoft and said "We got your back, go on and do it". That would make it a "risky" bet but one that makes sense...

No see these are two seperate companies. If Nintendo wanted a Wii Motion Plus only game they'd make one. If it failed horribly they'd just eat the hit directly and there would be no need to negotiate a price for failure with a whole other company that is going to want their losses covered and then some. Ubisoft being a company that makes games for more than just Nintendo has no real reason to trust that Nintendo has their back. If Nintendo asked them to take a risk they'd simply tell them to get lost and make other games for other people.

Your whole argument is predicated on the belief that Nintendo as an entity knows that releasing a Wii Motion Plus only game directly would cause a massive negative backwash of publicity and money. As such they would essentially have to force this unaffiliated company to take the risk for them. I say force because it would either be by force or by bribery which would be more costly than simply releasing the game themselves. So essentially we have this conspiracy were Nintendo not only has one collective will but also has the power to bully an unaffiliated company that is not reliant on Nintendo for work into doing whatever Nintendo wants. Its illogical and reeks of conspiracy.

It will be a Jerk Move when they make the next Zelda MotionPlus only. Kinda like what they did wih Majora's Mask and the Expansion Pak.
