So there's this Bayonetta demo...
Unfortunately, they've already handed out the limited number of demo codes, so the rest of you will have to wait until there is a public-er demo. I'll be downloading it later tonight. anyone else get it? Thoughts?
EDIT: Just played it. In spoiler tags in case people want the gameplay to be a surprise. There are a lot of combos, even for just the quad pistol setup. By pressing LT you can switch to the katana, which seems to do more damage, but is slower. Also, it can do charged attacks. Horizontal on ground, and vertical in midair. Charge attacks charge up to two levels. You don't seem to be a part of the normal human world. Humans look... invisible-ish. Kinda like invisible enemies in the original Doom games. Kinda. They can't see you, and you can walk through them. When you do, they look around all confused like. If you break stuff near them or start shooting your guns they cower in fear until you stop, and then run away terrified. A lot of thought was put into this. When your magic gauge is fully charged, which goes up by doing combos, and down from taking damage, you can do a torture move, like kicking enemies into an iron maiden. A command will come up when it does, telling you to mash a button, and the more you mash it the bigger bonus you'll get afterwards in the form of cash, only the cash is halos. By rotating the left thumbstick and then holding an attack button, you go into a zoomed in mode where you sit in place and just aim at enemies with your guns while mashing said attack button to keep firing. Your more vulnerable when doing this, though. When you land after jumping, butterflies appear from where you landed. Double jump and Bayonetta sprouts butterfly wings for a second or two. Right trigger is dodge. You don't even have to give a direction, just press the button. Dodge at the last second and you'll go into Witch Time, which is purple colored slow-mo. You can exit an attack into plain old shooting by holding the attack button down. Enemy designs are radical and you can pick up there weapons after killing them. Environments are destructable, but the enemies are much better at it than you. The plot actually looks interesting! I fought a horde of enemies on a piece of a clocktower as it fell off a cliff. 'Nuff said.

Bayonetta does not eat pizza.
Kinda... I'd say it has a different kind of stylishness, though. DMC is cheesy badass, whereas certain things about Bayonetta feel almost artistic. You also, from what I saw, feel like you're seeing an actual living world, even if you aren't an actual part of that world. DMC feels much more isolated. Gameplay feels a bit different from DMC, but it's been a while since I've played DMC last, so I couldn't get into specifics.

Sounds pretty nice. If I didn't suck at this kind of thing, I'd definitely look into it, but I'm going to just have my nose pressed against the window for this one, I'm afraid.
Edit: How intuitive are the combos? On a scale of difficulty related to DMC, which is it closest to?

There were a lot a lot a lot of combos.
Very intuitive, in that you can find cool ones by random button pressing, and there are a lot to find. You also get to practice them during loading screens, with a list of them on the right hand side of the screen. This does not mean that load times are long, however.

Bayonetta wears a monocle and drinks Earl Grey tea.
I didn't say it was art. I said it was artsy. There's a difference. Despite the fact that you're playing a game where your character's clothes disappear when she attacks, it feels almost classy.

You know, aside from the entire showing skin to cast spells thing, Bayonetta has always struck me as a very classy character, partly because she doesn't seem to get ruffled by people not as powerful as her and partly because she seems so confident.
