Ouran Host Club: So Gay It's Straight
Just started watching Ouran Host Club on the Funimation website, and this has to be the funniest show I've seen in a long, long time.
Basic premise is that at the Ouran High School, a school for the super rich, the Host Club basically just spends all their time hitting on beautiful rich girls using their unique charms. The main character accidentally breaks a vase, something the show tells you is going to happen the moment the vase is on screen, and he gets stuck working for the club, and, before long, becoming a host himself. Apart from silly humor like Tamaki "bravely" declaring that he will try commoner's instant coffee, you also get a lot of yaoi humor. A LOT. Like, I have read yaoi doujinshi less gay than this show. I'm not even joking. Show is pretty hilarious and pretty, and all the characters are fun and likable. It'll even surprise you at times. You should all go to the Funimation site and check it out right now.

Things I did not need to know:
1. Noncon reads yaoi doujinshi. ...and, that pretty much sums it up. Though really, I understand you trying to avoid spoiling people - but when describing the premise of the show, you've left out one very important detail: The main character is a girl. That said, it's a wonderfully entertaining show. |

Oh God this show. My group used to sub this before I joined but it fell through the cracks after FUNimation snagged it. I honestly don't know what to say about it... But I can't judge because I'm a huge Ojamajo Doremi nut.

I remember when I first sat down and watched this. My roomate came in and the conversation went like this:
"Hey, whatcha watching?" "Oh...I'm not sure....it may be a Yaoi." "May be?" "Yeah, I'm going to have to watch a few more episodes to be sure." "Riiiiiiiiiight.....I'm going outside now." All in all this show was great. |

It's just, now it's confirmed. On another note, if someone's going to pick between the anime and the manga, I'd say go with the anime. |

The former, most likely.
Confirmed that I am entranced by relationships between two partners of the same gender? You make it sound so bad.
Also, I can't decide if the best thing about this show is Kaoru and Hikaru or Tamaki.

Tamaki, hands down. The twins are okay, but they just aren't as awesomely fun to watch as Tamaki.
EDIT: Unless you enjoy the whole "Elephant and Confetti” codpiece they like to share. |
