My CD drive won't stay shut
It continuously pops open. It will finally stay shut for awhile after closing it several times, then it decides to put me through the whole process again later on.
Anyone have any idea what would cause this?

Is it an old unit? There are a couple things that could be causing it:
1. dust. To fix this, just hold the drive so the door is to the ground and open and close it. You'll see little balls of dust falling out most likely. After the dust is gone, it will work normally. 2. a mechanical issue. This one means the thing is just broken. The motor is going funky, gears are wearing down, a part isn't moving out of the way, etc. You could get it repaired, but it's just easier to get a new unit, and probably cheaper.

Pretty easy to replace. Here's a link for a decent drive at a decent price. This one is SATA by the way, most likely your computer can handle it.
