My HD is now in the land of the dead R.I.P
So as I mentioned in the announcement thread, my computer's hd took a nosedive and I was unable to resuscitate it. My computer is mostly new parts anyways so it's cheaper for me to buy a new hd than a new pc in the long run. I'm not too great with picking out hardware so I figured I'd ask you all.
I was told that the black series from Western Digital are the top of the line. I don't really need top of the line, I just need one that will be reliable. I'm looking for somewhere in the 500g-1tb range, hopefully 1tb if I can get it. I'd like to avoid spending more than 100 bucks on it if possible, but I'll go as high as 115 if need be. Also, SATA drive and not SSD. I'm pretty good with computers when it comes to putting parts in and such, so I'm not worried about that at all, but standard sizes would be best to fit my case. Thanks for the help! |

That's so PC of you

i have a Samsung 1Tb HD and it serves me fairly well, also cheap, and that's for a PC that sometimes spends a week or two turned on with activity and, maybe, 10 hours downtime between weeks of use.

Try to get an external HDD as well to have a backup (actually, an image) of your system, so that you don't have to reinstall Windows and everything else. Or, just to have a backup of your files and stuff.
