Only 2 kinds of people.
Why is it that people always try to put evryone into two groups? I've heard all kinds of things like "Christians and Non-Christians" "Leaders and followers", and the list goes on. Why must we all cut the world in half? Is it so that we can feel justified about what we belive in or what we do? Personaly, i cant think of one true way to put people in two catagories, and i dont want to.

It is and always has been for society, thus.
There are two types of people, those that agree or coincide with my point of view, and those that do not.

It's just the attitude of "I'm right you're wrong". I think ppl need to get that across to others. Nobody wants to be the bad guy so they label others and what they do wrong. I try not categorize anyone but I do generalize some ppl every now and again though I shouldn't.

I agree with MP37a. Its a "I'm right and your a dumbass" syndrome. We see way to much of that today in my opinion, especially on things like the news.

What you're referring to is Aristotelian semantics, the two-valued either-or true-or-false logic system built into our very language structure. If you'd like to read a very long book about this topic,

Well, I think there are 10 types of people: those who know binary, and those who don't. Major props to whoever came up with that.
On a more serious note, I personally try not to do that, simply because it's not the best thing to do. I think of it this way: I wouldn't like people judging me that way, so it's best for me not to judge, either. If only the media was that way...

Although my sig seems to say I seperate the world into two groups; the actual explanation of the quote reveals something quite different. That being there appears to two seperate groups of people who are not quite so different as they seem. There is a whole long explination of this which I have given once so I'll just skip it here. So your just going to have to take my word for it.

Like MP37a said, it's about whose right and whose wrong.
Also, if we really tried to catagorize, the math would be terribly difficult. There's Swedish/liberal/blond/bachelor/Waitress/etc... I can't fugure that out. I'd rather say, there's the Swedish and there's the not Swedish. I hate Swedes, despite that you are my second cousin. Prepare to die!!! Ya see? How can you make those rash determinations when you take the world of factors in? You could be harming your brother! A classmate from elementary school! Somebody of your religion! But no. This is necessary to keep the strongest and most important fact blatantly clear in your mind. Nobody wants to get bogged down in details. And if we mess up? What else is new. I can't recall 6 straight hours when I didn't do at least something a little stupid. Even when I'm asleep. I punched myself in the face last night, for example. Thare's two kinds of people, people dumb enough to punch themselves in their sleep, and people who have less violent dreams. And that's true.

Yeah, but I think you are misinterpreting what the categorization means. For fanatics, it's a seperation between "us" and "them." But the majority of the time, I'd say at least 90% of the time I hear people split into categories it's for convenience. It's way easier than saying "the other people who don't agree with me and I don't hate them and I respect their point of view yet firmly disagree with them," or in layman's terms, "goths."

well, back to the origonal post, I think it is sometimes about validating belifes/actions/whatever through labeling, but mostly, "they" are labeled becuase of pre-validation of said belifes. Its not always bad, I mean, there are bad people, and good people. Right there, i just split us in half, but its true, isn't it? (First person to try starting a debate about what "good" and "bad" really mean and that its all opinion etc etc, wins my "congradulations-you-missed-the-point-moron" award.)
Ironically, you have labled two distinct groups: those who label others, and those who do not.
