I had a hard time deciding between SECA and Society, and maybe Sealers... So I kinda split the difference? Also, the sword is a very minor aspect of my character, and can be removed upon request.

Done!

Character Name: Adam Morrey

Gender: Male

Age: 28

Organization: The Royal Society of Vampire-Slayers; the British counterpart or SECA, and hundreds of years older, it began as a handful of lords and priests hunting "vampires" and their kin across the English countryside and wherever else they happened to be, and was formally chartered by Queen Elizabeth I to do this task in 1574. Close to the turn of the 20th century, under the leadership of a Lord Anthony Helsin the Royal Society was re-organized as a formal, professional organization, and modernized into the military-class fighting force it is today. Though some of its titles and bureaucracy remain planted--or mired--in tradition (like its name; the organization realized it was dealing with demons, not vampires, sometime in the 1750's), it is as able a force as SECA is in the US. While in the past it was a club for religious and/or adventure-loving lords and clergy, after Helsin it became a professional military organization, recruiting from among the best officers, soldiers, and, of course, chaplains in the British SAS and the general British military, as well as taking their pickings of the top recruits of the commonwealth nations, under certain conditions.

Class: Gunslinger

Special Abilities: Military training

Bio: Adam always loved the stories. Midnight meetings in roadside chapels, chivalrous duels with demons, "Vampire" towns, the battle of L'Oudon in the Hundred Years War (when the English army clashed with the French demon town)... The whole lot fascinated him as a child. And that fascination blossomed into a love of history, in Adam's later youth; as a young adult he swallowed all sorts of history, read as much of it as he could, and dreamt of studying it someday.

However, his parents, though loving, were poor, and his only chance at an education, he felt, was a stint in the army. He soon found himself a recruit in the SAS, and, by what to him seemed a sheer coincidence, he found a new love. The military provided him with a perspective he'd never had before, and he ended up, almost without realizing it, going career.

While in the service, he was tapped for a special assignment: Royal Society. Joining them was like a dream come true; he was able to live the stories himself, and though he soon realized much of the drama suspense, and glamour in them had to be aggrandizement, he nevertheless felt he was a part of something he wanted to be.

Equipment/Belongings:

Heckler & Koch G36K (three full clips armor-piercing rounds)
.50 Desert Eagle (see Overcast's) (three full clips)
AN-PVS7 Nightvision goggles
Two grenades
Body armor
In his possession but not on him (as in, in his room wherever he is, unless I say otherwise), L118A1 sniper rifle (ten full clips), seven more clips for each of his other guns, boxes of ammo for each gun, five day's rations)

Appearance: Looks like a soldier... Has short brown hair, brown eyes, stands at 5'11", built like a soldier, generally wearing his uniform even when off duty... He tends to be cheerful, and something of a pointdexter when off-duty; he'll be happy to reference barely-relevant historical/mythical facts at semi-awkward times. When on-duty, he is strongly focused, and strongly motivated; he hopes to be part of history himself, by being part of helping to seal the Gates.

(Some of the more embarrassing references to Hellsing were either 1) my (really, really bad) sense of humor or 2) meant to be from without the organization. Particularly the name, which I had meant to be what others call it, as a result of the Hellsing anime. I also took the Church entirely out of the organization. Though I think the case could be made for them to be in, I'd rather play than argue. If you (care to) think of some kind of way to include them, I suppose that would do. And the (kinda lapsed, still distant) Sealers character was kinda an idea... I included that I'd even thought of it for some stupid reason. Lastly, thanks Hawk; I'd imagined that the SAS was pure military and there'd be some police force that would step in when the shit hit the fan, but meh.)
