But for serious, with the number of people signing up for this and the tendency to often forget who is what and what is who, I might get the urge to compile a list of everyone's characters like I did for Devil Arms. Not sure how handy it was for everyone else but it helped me remember who was who and what they could do.

Character Name: Dev'on Emerys.
Gender: Male Age: 19 Organization: The Wardens. Class: Divine Seeker Special Abilitees: Cards of Dev'on, sigil magic, Combat proficiency(sword), excorcism(knows how- never tried). Special Drawbacks: Can't shoot a gun to save his life, slow at inscribing sigils(mostly pre-inscribes when needed). Bio: Dev'on was not always Dev'on, but a young boy, who's parents where carnes. He had a talent for the art of the scam, and indeed became a very quick-fingured lad with enough money to buy most of the things he wanted in the towns they passed through. In one of these towns lived an old man who, at the urgings of his neighbors, came to the circus. The old man had been a carne once, and was not long for life, and they wanted him to see a circus one last time. This man met the young lad, and, reminded of himself at 11, offered the boy, instead of the 10 Gold owed due to the scam, a book, a pack of cards, and some advice. He, for he had made his quota for the night, took the book and cards. They where inscribed in a strange language he could not read, but eminated... something. The man's advice was to "seek out a paladin named Aalest, in the temple of Thron. Ask to study under him as a paladin, and you will learn much." That night he told his parents of the advice, and, eager to get him a more honest career (and off of the dinner table), they sent him to become a paladin. He never told anyone about the book and cards. He was well educated, and learned 5 languages, including the ancient language of hell. He was taught this, because, as a paladin, he would have to be able to deal with demons on there own terms. The language had power. This was the language of the book, which desribed many things, including the legends of hell, the foundations of magic, and the history of the Mother of Hell. It claimed to have been written by one of her incarnations. From this, he learned of his quest, and the how to use the cards of Dev'on. They where more or less a form of sigil magic, save that each individual dash meant something, and could be combined to create endlessly complicated sigils. From this he learned sigil magic, though found that the cards themselves could use it. At age 18, he was told of the battle for the mother of hell by the paladin, and sent out on a quest to prove himself a paladin. His job: slay the mother of hell. No matter what. After a year of journeying, saving villages from bandits and driving back the lesser forces of darkness, he joined the watchers, and, while letting loose some information, finally got the last peice of the puzzel to the mother's location. Such a shame his friends, alongside whom he'd fought several times, should be gaurding her... Equipment/Belongings: Book of the eternal stuggle (Does nothing in and of itself. It more or less just a book of Magic/draw in to the storyline) Cards of Dev'on (can function as cards of Mersielle, when shuffled have completely different non-sigil effects[think... deck of many things, more or less, DMG p 278 v. 3.5], as well as having an erasable side for sigils) paladin's sword(duh), book of Thron, Seal of passage, money. That ok? Last edited by Fantabulate; 08-29-2009 at 10:28 AM. |

wight24 and Arcanum: You'll also note that I said this:

Fantab: No. Remember when I said this: Quote:
Even if you do fix that, there are a few other things wrong with the character: 1) You're trying too hard to jam all of the three major classes (Mage, Gunslinger, and Holy) into a single character. I know I'm letting a combination of two slide....but no way all three. 2)What exact are the "non-sigil" effects of your cards? I'm not a big fan of vagueness. 3)Pray tell. what kind of "power" is in the language of Hell? See above comment about vagueness. Long story short: No, cannot be an opposing force. No, cannot dabble in guns and magic and holy stuff. Two of the three at most, with one being relatively minor. Please clear some of your vaguer stuff (like what the cards do and what the book does). SIGN-UPS WILL CLOSE TOMORROW NIGHT!!!! We have more than enough people to start, but I'm still willing to give our works in progress and place holders one more chance to get in. The game will likely start Sunday afternoon/evening.

Alright. Let me alter that up a little bit.
I thought I wasn't demon-siding, just trying to kill her, so that she never bears a child? I thought that was still the side of the light. Do you mean we all need to protect her? P.S. The language of hell does nothing in and of itself. Its just a language.

Hence the name of our squad. The Protectors. It also clashes with the goals of many others on the squad. Like Dick, my character, who if he figured out that was Dev'on's plan from day one would find some way to slit his throat in his sleep as per Dick's style. The others would probably respond the same, though not all with the same sort of subtlety. Thus does it make it pvp, which toast doesn't want.
It ends up making your character nonviable.

Yeah, pretty sure Wight would just put a bullet or 3 through your brain were he to find out as well. Like he wouldn't even flinch or give it a second thought.
So yeah, really we all need to be on the same side in this one man.
