Jon Arbuckle
First came the Garfield Randomizer, then Garfield with speech bubbles removed, and now, what I think is the apex, Garfield Minus Garfield.
I think it was Ryan North, of qwantz fame, who speculated that with all the postmodern experimentation being done on Garfield, the strip would actually transcend its current kitschy status and become and an actual pop culture influence. I just think the strips are funny. This is my favorite. I think I've had that same emotional rollercoaster before.

Those remind me of Penny Arcade comics where it's just Gabe.... being Gabe:

I actually did one of the ones where you get rid of Garfield's dialogue and just have it be Jon acting insane around his cat. It's not as ridiculously absurd as most others, but it did successfully remove an incomprehensible thought-bubble punchline.
Meh.

I dunno, the one where he looks like shit and is in excrutiating pain was pretty intense.

Brilliant:
Someone should really make these into one of those inpirational posters somehow. EDIT: On the Bravefencer note: Ok, this is too good not to become my avy somehow. What do you think: "the pain!" picture, or the paper bag head? Last edited by russianreversal; 02-27-2008 at 02:53 AM. |

I'd go with the paper bag myself, but that's just my preference.
